Oh, I fully expect our security folk to check the bag by hand. I have printouts of the Kingsborne website in the bag, along with photos of Smaug and am prepared to talk the ears off of anyone who wants to listen to me expound on the merits of our chosen cars! (did you know there are fewer than 550 in the US? Here's pictures of mine - there are only 37 in this color in the US! Hey, this is a 1.6 Isuzu engine but check out this turbo install. Do you know how much difference a limited-slip diff makes on a FWD car? Hey, it's Lotus' Diamond Jubilee 60th Anniversary on Sunday...) you get the idea.

Hope your checking that bag in as can`t seeing them allowing that as Hand Laugage, security is very tight here. Last time i was flying you couldn`t take any liquids over 100ml in your hand laugage and had to put them in a seperate plastic bag

I've had my "liquids kit" together since the week the rule was instigated here. I fly a bit for the day-job, so I'm used to the drill. Once through security in San Diego, I'll stay inside the secured zone until landing in the UK. I appreciate the concern, but I'm sure I'll be fine. Can't wait to get there!

All wire sets have been gathered from Kingsborne, labeled with their purchaser's name, packed up and are ready to go. Kingsborne threw in spacers (two 2-wire and two 4-wire) at no additional charge and did not charge tax since they're going out of the country. Assuming I can walk through the green aisle with a smile on my face and a bag on my shoulder, we'll come in right at 12.75 each.

I have possible issue… but I guess it's too late to do anything about it!

Although they clip onto the coil packs just fine, closer inspection revealed that the caps are not in contact at the base of the cap and the cap generally feels loose. Although there are two raised sections further down the cap, It's difficult to see whether they are making contact.
For comparison, the connector on the OEM set is recessed by 15mm whereas the Kingsborne ones are only 6mm. Given that they are underneath the coolant tank, I do wonder if there is some correlation with the occasional ignition problems there have been over the last 10 years.

I slather a large clot of silicone dielectric grease on the inside of the boot before putting it on the coil. In the end, one good leak from the overflow and it's all over anyway. I've had to replace the coils twice, both times along with cracked coolant bottles. Once the coils are coated with coolant, they form invisible, impossible to clean tracks where the coil voltage leaks to earth.
