Hi Steve,

Its expensive, but worth it, it has the best atmosphere and mad Dutch and German fans (+800 types of beer). Grandstand tickets (bus stop, eau rouge etc), 330 - 500 euros each. General admission (swampy) tickets 130 - 150 euros each. Campsite (we rent a static caravan), 350 euros / week (2km from circuit, walking down the old track from Stavelot). Tent pitch much cheaper. Breakdown insurance 50 - 75 quid, Eurotunnel 50 - 120 quid each way depending on the time of day. 220 miles from Calais, brilliant easy roads, taken the Elan three times now, it almost knows the way itself!

Err, not sure. His front wheels were level with Raikkonen`s rears when he left the circuit. He could have tucked in behind Kimi but seemed to choose to cut the chicane. I was in the chicane grandstand and saw it all. 25 seconds is a bit severe i suppose. I don`t like the way he bigged himself up in the press conference though. Everyone knows the McLaren in much more controllable and forgiving on cooling tyres and a damp surface then the Ferrari, which is apparently a nightmare to drive in those conditions. I hope it`s hot at Monza on Sunday.

Hamilton's appeal is today, so this is timely :

Got a Ferrari?

Not quite good enough at driving?

Are other boys faster than you in the wet?

Then you need:

Ferrari International Assistance (FIA)

This exclusive Ferrari only membership club has many benefits. Including:

Anti overtaking assurance
Been overtaken? Feel a bit silly? Don't worry, we'll rule out the other party , even if it's embarrassingly obvious that they're faster than you

Exclusive access to a secret 'second lane' in the pits
Just to make things a little bit easier we've arranged a private second lane , just for you

Guaranteed world championship?
Had a crash? Need to win the world championship? Don't worry just limp across the track and take off your nearest championship title contender - we'll do the rest

A bit strapped? Need extra cash?
Simply get one of your team to tell someone else how you make your cars and we'll do the rest.

Bits falling off your car? Looking a bit dangerous?
At Ferrari International Assistance we operate a 'blind eye' policy just for Ferrari drivers

Been a bit silly? Taken off another driver whilst following the safety car?
It's ok, as long as you didn't hurt yourself. I mean, who are Force India anyway? And how dare they be in front of you

A bit bored? Want some extra action?
With FIA Plus you can take part in a number of additional membership activities

Not sure when you might need us next?
Relax. Check out our track record. We're confident that we'll be able to make something up on the spot that will get you out of any pickle that you might find yourself in

Oh, what a surprise - McLaren lose the appeal and the FIA's pro-Ferrari bias remains intact.

And to meet you Gary!

I reckon Toro Rosso have hit the sweet spot with their set up. I don`t go with the ITV F1 view that the Renault motor is weaker than the Ferrari, more a case of the Toro Rosso being better than the Red Bull. Renault won the 2006 constructors championship at the precise time that development was frozen for all teams,it`s a championship winning engine, so F1 ITV are talking ****ocks as usual. You always get beaten by your `satellite` team. Just ask Honda. They must be relieved Super Aguri went bust. Imagine the pasting the `works` team would be getting this year. At least they are spared that embarrasment.

The aero in 2008 F1 cars is so complex and hit and miss, combined with the stupid freeze on engine development, I don`t think it is possible to make any meaningful judgement on engine power between teams. Remember, Force India use an identical Ferrari engine to TR, and they are rooted to the back of the grid. Renault have historically been at the forefront of engine innovation / power in F1, and their budget is up 40% for next year, so don`t expect them to get humiliated for a third year.

This is their take on the whole affair...

:agree:

Teams are not allowed to develop for more power, but they are allowed to develop for more reliability. If they happen to 'accidentally find' some power when incresing reliability, then that is ok.......

......especially if Ferrari do it I suppose.
