Doesn't the engine freeze get lifted at the end of this season?
If so, I wouldn't bet against Honda having a powerful unit developed.

I thought I'd read the freeze was lifted a few races ago - to allow Renault to catch up?

And WTF is this all about :
"Although McLaren has not had to use its one permitted penalty-free engine change on Hamilton’s car this season, the 'joker' rule does not apply at the final round meaning the points leader would be hit with a potentially disastrous 10-place grid drop if his power plant needed to be switched before the race."
look here

Another Fup by McLaren or a late rule change by Ferrari IA

How could it be a Fup by McLaren? It meant that Hamilton had a new engine for the last race when all his competitors did not.

Late rule change? I wouldn't doubt it. I agree that the rule is just bonkers.

I'm stupid!!!!
It has taken me over 30 years to realise that "F1" means "Ferrari1".
I have been labouring under the misapprehension that is was "Formula"

I hope Lewis is avoiding men with sharp umbrellas, food that glows in the dark, invites from suspicious women or men and anything generally unusual cos if they cannot stop him by distorting the game plan or the rules they are bound to try something more ingenious. I wouldnt be surprised to hear his plane disappeared without trace somewhere near Bermuda or aliens abducted him on the eve of the race.

I believe in "he who lives by the sword dies by the sword"- so hopefully one day those with vested interests will get their just deserts. Maybe a 10 year spell in a US jail for fraud or tax evasion. Or hopefully Bernie will loose all his 22billion and have to sell the "Big Issue" to make ends meet.

Seems the rules allow you one penalty free engine change - so called 'joker' - except it is not allowed in the last race. McLaren have not played their 'Joker' on Hamilton's car so he must use the Chinese GP engine in Brazil, whilst Masa gets a fresh one as he has already played his Joker - like most of the others. Imagine if Hami's engine blows in the last lap of Quali.
But if McClaren had used their joker earlier in the season, for a high pressure race such as Monaco or Spa (I'm not sure if they did have fresh ones for those races but you get my drift) they would now be in sinc. for a fresh engine in Brazil. Depends on who you believe but they could be 20 or more BHP down compared to Ferrari1
Can't imagine it is a late rule change but I did read last week that he would use his Joker in Brazil. Seems that is not possible now. :(

So, Eddie Jordan may be part of the BBC`s commentary team next year. That would be a great choice. He`s an interesting
bloke.

Mind you, I wouldn`t mind Ronald McDonald, as long as there are no ****ing adverts.

Why are all the papers saying that Hamilton blew his chances of the title at the final race last season?
Did they forget that it was a (suspicious) mechanical failure which cost him vital places?
It was the previous race where he & his team made the wrong choice about staying out on worn tyres.

I'd listen to Bernie on the grid before the race for a prediction. He correctly predicted Kimi winning it last year. How did he know?

Jeez - that was absolutely amazing! Good old Lewis! :-D

What the hell happened to Glock though? :?

Poetic justice eh?

Have to feel for Massa, thought he'd got it, then he hadn't.

Great Race by Massa and a great 2nd by Alonso, thought Vettel had a great race too :smt023

But IMHO Lewis deserved the Title even though it wasn`t a great final race by him.

and a big :smt098 to the Brazilian crowd for booing, a sick bunch off :censored: scum bag supporters who treat F1 like football

still high on valium.

When Vettel took hammy Dee and i were both screaming at the TV, the race couldn't have been scripted better.
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

blimey..
that was too close for comfort.
many thanks to timo glock.

the fia managed to keep the points close this year but even so that was won, lost then won again..

massa would have been a worthy champ and just think the f1 writters wrote him off 4 races in...
kimi will be back on it next year so i wonder if this was massa's best shot
will ferrari actually have equal drivers next year.
i think mclaren need a better number 2 than kovi though. maybe a vettel?

poor old coulthard.
did anyone see button running off with a can of petrol ?
will jb have a job next year? rubens outclassd him this year and it sounds like he is for the chop.....

slick, wings and engines upgraded in the off season will make 2009 even better

good year
