Well done to Hammy. Although on the basis of that race he didn't deserve to be champion. The curtailled Ferrari celebrations were great though !

Something strange going on with Glock. He seems to speed up again after Hammy went past him...

As for the comments about Torro Rosso getting the 'new' Ferrari engine. I believe that Berger talked Ferrari into letting them have it around mid season, which is co-incedently about the time that Torro Rosso stopped being back markers and suddenly became front runners...

Information pilfering goes on throughout the whole sport. McLaren were just unlucky that they had an exceptional rookie who made his team-mate very bitter...bitter enough to make public things which should have been kept under wraps.

Who is to say that Ferrari did not arrange for their data to be leaked to McLaren then make sure it got exposed?

The scarlet mob haev been getting away with things for years. Remember the illegal radiator barge boards from a few years ago? FIA verdict: "Yes, they are illegal but did not give the car an unfair advantage so no penalty". What a load of old cobblers.

As for Glock, he stated in the paper this morning that there was only 1 other car on dry tyres at the end of Sundays race: Jarno Trulli, whose lap was SLOWER.

According to to the Sunday Times supplement car mag who did a write up on it.
The reason it became public knowledge was because the documents were taken to a printshop to be copied and because they had top secet on them they informed the authorities.
Then when RD heard that they were found out he had to go public about it. Only then did Alonso stick his oar in. Alonso Twisted the knife but didn't put it in to start with. If that is true its got to be one of the best all time own goals.

I read that this morning and it answered what I was trying to find out. 5 laps to go and Glock was 7th, the top 6 all pitted but the first 3 got out in front of him putting him 4th. He was only 17 secs away from keeping 4th until being over taken by Vettel and Lewis, which means he gained a place to 6th by not pitting. Seems like their team tactics worked for them.

I remember reading that.
So McLaren does not have a photocopier.
You believe that? I don't.

Rippers, you gotta believe what the papers say mate, they ain't allowed to lie !

The only thing Alonso proved, is he is only loyal to himself, now thats what i call atitude :!: , oh, & he's a right mardy git when he don't get his own way.

The person who believes ferrari hasn't done exactly what McLaren did, is only kidding themselves, there like politicians, there all the same underneath.

Neither the article or I said that Mclaren did the photocopying or they didn't have a photocopier.
Come to think of it never said I believed what was written in the papers either.

Well done to Lewis, he overcame everything thrown at him in the end, talk about doing it the hard way. It was certainly exciting.

I feel a bit sorry for Felipe, he is a good loser. After all, if Ferrari had stuck with lollypops, they would be double world
champs now.

But the best news is, my man has extended his Renault contract by two years, `till end 2010. If only the championship has started in Spa, Renault would have won both titles. Too late i know, but Lewis better enjoy the No.1 plate, cause Fernando will take it off him and back to Renault next year, if they carry their end of season momentum into 2009.

I see where your coming from Oliver, & yes, well done to Renault for there end of season results, but i wonder how much of there success was due to the fact other teams wern't developing there cars after mid-season, putting all there resources into 2009 ?. still next year is certainly going to be interesting ?

Well done to LH overall - I think he'll be a great ambassador for the support.

And well done to PM - very sportsmanlike and magnanimous in defeat. Must have been hard taking that one on the chin.

Very strange about Glock though - the cynic in me says there was more to that than meets the eye ??

A brave statement. I wouldn't be too sure about anything yet.

Most teams have good & bad periods in F1 & it can change quickly. Who knows what next year holds?
As someone pointed out above, this year's cars are now history. The first to get the best from (& find the loopholes in) next year's regulations will be the ones to watch. From what I hear, the regs are undergoing a massive change too.

Honda have always developed powerful engines, but re-started in F1 too late to get a winning engine ready for the engine freeze. Said freeze has now lifted & with Ross Brawn in the team, they may well have been looking toward 2009.

All speculation really. Who knows?

the engine freeze according to the FIA is about to become a one engine suplier?
bit like the whole grid using a meccachrome engine ...

strangly ferrari have said without their own engine they will have to re evaluate their f1 input.

Ferrari are dead right. If sealed, out of the box engines are introduced, the FIA might as well issue each team a couple of VW Polos each per race instead.
I hope that would lead to a break away series, this has now gone too far. 2.4 V8`s, engine development freeze, KERS, crap McLaren ECU`s, F1 is turning into Formula Ford (no insult implied).

I`m waiting for some idiot to suggest diesel engines.

I wouldn`t expect my team, Renault, to win championships again under these circumstances. They are an innovator, and if innovation is stifled any further, the FIA will have legislated F1out of existance.

Can you imagine Colin Chapman and Team Lotus working with these rubbish stupid rules & ideas ?

Oh, and I wouldn`t worry too much about Renault not having the budget to have a title-winning car in 2009. They have 40% more budget available next year, and remember, they are the definitive giant killers. When they won all four titles in 2005-2006, only Minardi and Super Aguri spent less.

Force India will use Mercedes-Benz engines and McLaren gearboxes from next season following the confirmation of a new technical partnership. It comes after last week’s news that Ferrari had agreed to end their engine supply deal with the team a year early.

Force India’s 2009 car, the VJM02, will run engines supplied by Mercedes-Benz HighPerformanceEngines, the first time Mercedes has supplied a chassis constructor other than McLaren.

i wonder if 3 ferraris at the front of the grid this year has had any part in this
who will be next years back of the grid team then?
not force india
