Unlikely to be free!

My take on 'Autojumble' is that they will be open to offers/negotiation on the day.

Traders at an autojumble usually have a guide price, but haggling is expected until both parties are happy with the deal.

Re: Lotus Factory Parts Sale November 29th&30th 2008

Postby mac70 » Sat 22.11.2008, 10:57

Hi there,

Dave has pointed out to me that at the Lotus Factory Parts Sale a part is offered that I cannot get anywhere in Germany (where I am located). I have contacted several dealers and second hand sellers. My mechanic has checked similar parts from GM - no luck.
It is this part:

M100 Elan A100L0036F Fuel Evap cannister 48 28.02 4.26

Even more ironic 48 pieces are available for a ridiculous low price. But since I am sitting in Munich I cannot go.
Could someone pick up the part for me and send it to Germany. My Elan and I would be very happy.

Thanks,

Stefan

I will definitely be going along anyway.

Chris,

I need to go as well, but for that very same reason I can't drive there, or at least not in the Elan anyway (my Elan needs a new driver's side driveshaft - only thing is I couldn't find them in the sale list). :?
Which day are you planning to go? I'll either take the Pug, or if you don't mind sharing transport that would be even better.

That's the fella - thanks Geoff! :D
I should have thought to use CTRL F before.
Not that they're likely to run out any time soon, but I guess it would probably be worth buying each side - if one's gone then the other may not be too far behind.
These parts bother me. They wear out, can't be refurbished, and there's no cross-reference to any other vehicle. If Lotus DO run out, we're going to be in trouble.

I have a n/s in the garage (turns out it was wheel bearings and not CVJs at Hethel) so I wouldn't mind an o/s to go with it as well. :poke:

Does anyone know offhand if the parts prices will be subject to VAT?

I'm just thinking that with VAT coming down from 17.5 to 15% on Monday, and with each of the items (other than those in the Autojumble) able to be delivered direct you your local dealer, it might make it financially unviable (for me) to drive all the way down there & back only to spend MORE than I would have done. :-S

Prices are subject to VAT at tomorrows rates, not those applied on Monday. :(

You need to be (or have someone) in the queue to get the sale price and a a good chance of getting any limited availablity items. If you want to save fuel Neil, I'm going anyway.

For anybody in the Northwest who can't make it to Hethel or indeed anyone who would have to buy ££££'s worth of stuff to make the trip worthwhile, Christpher Neil (Northwich), will 'obtain' the parts on the sales list at the same prices for you and may even have them in stock at the same prices - but don't tell everyone!

There were about 3 other M100 people, A frech registered car with M100 bitz, a blue Elan with a lovely CAR B00T....

Auto jumble was good... (All bar the seven Kia Boots...(In Duck egg blue)) I never Knew Kia had made spares for Lotus, but it's not rocket science

I could of bought so more.... Project cars and creep...

Chatting to the staff, there could be another sale next year in the summer... :-D

The following should all be happy chappies following a successful day: Gareth, Enners, Ailwyn, WillB, Inkitin, a5gcd, mac70, L.G., discovery. I believe I got everything you asked for. :D

Tony Munro and Sy will be less so - B post "covers" are not "caps". :(
