brundle ex employee of jordan alongside coulthard (who he manages) plus ted ....

Red Bull Racing’s David Coulthard and former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan will both serve as television pundits next season when the BBC takes over UK Formula One broadcasting rights from current holders ITV.

Coulthard retired from competition at the end of the 2008 season. He will continue to serve as a consultant and test driver for Red Bull, but will now combine this role with TV commitments that will see him on screen alongside Jordan and BBC anchorman Jake Humphrey.

"After 15 seasons competing in F1, my passion for the sport is still very much alive, and therefore I was delighted to be given the opportunity to share my views and experiences through the BBC coverage of F1,” Coulthard told his new employers.

Coulthard will not be the only ex-driver in the BBC’s line-up. Martin Brundle makes the switch from ITV to continue his co-commentating role, alongside Jonathan Legard. Brundle’s former colleague Ted Kravitz is also retained to report from the pit lane, where he will be joined by Lee McKenzie.

Jordan has remained a regular visitor to the Formula One paddock since selling his team to Midland in 2005. The Silverstone-based squad has changed hands twice since then, with current owners Force India taking over from Spyker late last year.

sounds like a fantastic line up.

dc speaks his mind.
EJ never holds back.
martin has a sharp eye for detail.
and ted is good at being in the right place at the right time..

PLUS NO ADVERTS ....or jame allen.......

"Murray Walker is to be part of the BBC formula one commentary team next year - but only on the web.

Walker, whose excitable commentary style and on-air bloopers made him synonymous with F1 coverage on television, moved from the BBC to ITV when the commercial broadcaster took over live coverage more than a decade ago.

He retired from live TV commentary on motorsport in September 2001, after the end of that year's F1 championship, at the age of 77.

Next year live F1 TV coverage returns to the BBC and the corporation said Walker would be a "regular presence" on the BBC Sport website offering his "expert insight" and "passionate perspective" on the sport, as well as interacting with F1 fans online."

Thank christ for that.

Brundle's an absolute gent, with bags of humour but without apparent ego, and is thus (in my limited experience) the diametric opposite of St Murray of Walker. And yes, I've had the pleasure/honour/good fortune and misfortune of meeting both of 'em.

The Honda situation is bad, but this is much worse:

Oh dear. I predict that from 2010, there will be two separate series of what is currently referred to as F1 running concurrently, with Ferrari, Renault, McLaren and BMW in one, and the rest in the other.

The Reason ? The lunatics responsible have decided to go ahead with & award the single engine supply contract to Cosworth. Cosworth are a great company, but do the powers that be really expect Renault, let alone Ferrari etc to race a car using a common third party engine ? KERS was / is a total joke, this marks the beginning of the end for F1.

I hope Alonso makes it as the last F1 world champion in 2009.

I agree with Oliver, but I don't think this is a bad thing.
It may be the end for F1 as we know it. The attraction has always been that it is cutting edge. If it loses that edge (which it will if teams are restricted to Cosworth engines) & another series emerges which IS cutting edge, then I believe that will attract all the sponsorship, media etc.

Darts is a great example of a successful split. In the early 90's, the BDO imposed restrictions which caused many players to breakaway & form the PDC. The PDC has flourished & the BDO has effectively become an amateur organisation (ie most BDO players have day jobs so how can they possibly be 'professional' darts players).

there is only one person to blame for jensons downfall and thats jenson.

He came into f1 having been rather average ... not even in a leader series but the one below that.f3. as f3000 was around at the time. He came 3rd.
i went to the final of the autum gold cup where he was back stage with his current girlfriend ( who he dropped like a tonne of bricks when in f1)having a fag.
the actual winner Mark Hines went on to do nothing either. Drivers need to use and earn their position in f1 and learn about loyalty.

Something that "the brit factor" has a habit of doing to f1 drivers they believe their own hype.
Patric head's missus saw jenson and williams gave him a 1 year shot only. As jpm was on his way.
Jenson over hyped himself after 1 year in f1 then went on to annoy Flav which pretty much kills your f1 carear.(flav hates cockiness thats why webber never got the 2nd winning renault seat)
jens scraped around with tests at jordan before getting the BAR drive. His best ever drive. But BAR became honda, at this point he already signed a contract for williams.

His lifeline would have been to go back to Williams but oh no he knew better.
he became his own manager and put himself in all the wrong driver places but collected a lot of cash.
enough to buy himself out of the williams drive and then sponsor them to the tune of 15 million so he could sit in a s**t box.
williams had stacks of sponsors lined up to back them as a brit entry but jenson wanted to stay at now honda.

i bet he wishes he had have taken the williams drive now.
Nico's looking pretty handy in an under powered car and jenson is the lowest of the point scoring positions ... dead last..
as for ruben's he made "our" jens look a bit silly...
yes the 08 and 07 honda was a dog .. he should have got himself out of there when his stock was mid wrange but the cash was too good. He put himself there and has no one else to blame but himself. certainly not williams.

Don't get me wrong i do quite like jenson for his off track antic's .
I certainly won't miss daddy holding his hand and getting more tv airtime than other current f1 drivers ... The same complaint can be said of Mr Hamilton senior.

Corruption in F1? Old news.

F1 without Ferrari? Who cares? What have they ever done which can be considered 'innovative'?

it never ceases to amaze me the way F1 continues to self implode.
as Paul says the 80 million given from mclaren to Ferrari via the fia. even if it wasn't the case it certainly looks like it.
next year " club race F1" with its frozen jobsworth engines , no pit stops will be more transparent.

yeah right..
