Hi

Is this item still available?

Quick question, how easy is this to fit? and
Is it essential that you cut down the gear stick? Does this not just leave you with an ill fitting gaiter.

1. Yes :D

2. Depends on how handy you are with spanners! Most have managed in around 1/2 hour but I did take 1 hour on a car with A/C

3. No.
BTW The gaiter just slides down the shaft so still fits OK although more bunched up - try it before you decide.

Just fitted one of these kits today :D

Prior to fitting my car was crunching on the down change into third and a little iffy on the way up through the box when pushed hard

Frankly the change is awsome! I no longer have any crunch on changes up or down and the precise solid feel of the change reminds me of my old elise :-D

Fitting really was not too difficult (and I have air con). Took me about an hour to do.

If you have not made this change then you should without hesitation.

Thanks Dave. Looking forward to many happy journeys!

Cheers

Iain

I've had one or two enquiries of late so I've decided to bite the bullet and order material for another batch of 25 kits. Just in time it seems as my local steel stockist is closing down in Feb
Price of Stainless has gone up a bit in the last year so I'll need to adjust the price to £78 which includes delivery in the UK and a voluntary (and annonymous :D ) LEC donation of £5 per kit.
All interested parties form a queue here - no obligation - and I'll get in touch when they are ready.

Ditto....Thanks again Dave.

Super mod and would recommend it to anyone - had it in my car for the last 6K miles and recently drove my mate's car without the short shift mod...... :censored: ...at the difference.

might be worth mentioning this on the group buy page - I don't often venture onto this page and nearly missed it, I was just doing a periodic check for......a Dave's shortshift! :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
I'm almost tempted to buy 2 - and I dunno why,
infact thniking about it, if you do struggle for numbers, rather than have loads of cash tied up in stock, let me know, and I'll but another, nodoubt someone will want one after everything has gone.

I'd already made the topic "sticky", but I take your point and will move (edit: HAVE moved!) it to Group Buys.

BTW I always have my default page for LEC set to "View unread posts" so that the new stuff always catches my eye (even if it's just a case of clicking onto a topic to get rid of it). And if there are hundreds, there is a link you can click to easily reset the list to zero.
Striking fear into the hearts of duplicate posts everywhere...! :P
