Trying to but alittle thing called work has been getting in the way. I got stuck in Salt Lake City in a snow storm. The night before I was in Calgary...... It was well below freezing. Brrrrr.

this thread has been amazing, it's too bad it will be coming to a close soon. i just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone that purchased an adapter (and sorry for the 1"). i especially want to thank Marie and Ekkers as they started all this off what i thought would be a product for maybe 2 or 3 people between both LEC and isuzone. I look forward to seeing your builds and hopefully some posts in the GT series upgrade thread.

Woody, i tried this, even on a brand new heatshield, & because of how there manufactured, ie 2 thin layers of steel, spot welded together, the chroming was not that successful. It did take ok, but rust soon came through on the spotweld areas & the edges where they couldn't get it to run in between the layers, so i then had it ceramakromed ( jet-hot coated in the USA ), & this was much more successful. Although its not as nice & shiney as chrome plate itself, it has excellant anti-corrosion properties, & i think will last for much longer. If your interested look here :- http://www.camcoat.com/

It might be considered a bit 'mickey mouse', but i used Halfords High Temp aluminium spray paint on mine 2 years ago - still intact and a good sheen.

Same here Pinks, with high temp laquer. Lasted a couple of years before I gave it another refresher coat.

Do I need to take it off to spray paint it,having a right job trying to undo the 10mm screw down the side of the Turbo.
Thinking of buying a special extra long 10mm ring spanner.Any ideas ?

I eventually got under the car and it was a lot easier once you got the spanner dead square on the bolt. I presume you've hit it with penetrating oil?

I used the ring end of a 10mm combi spanner coupled with a 21mm spanner as an extension bar... then again I did sheer the head off after I got her out about half way...

Quick update gents. I came back to a small box of custom stainless bolts today. Yay!! Bad part is it's not all of them but it is enough for me to ship out 1-2 more turbos. As soon as I get back from my current trip I'll get them dispatched.

As I'm not buying the Turbo at this atge I'm not sure I need the bolts?

It would be good to be able to display Maries talents on the stand at Donington

I'll ask Algirdas. Also the bolts go more with the downpipe than the turbo. Any of the GT 25 turbine housings use them but the downpipe is such a tight fit that specific bolts were needed. Nothing really special about them other than a specific. Depth and one odd looking stainless stud.
