I rebuilt
Lucy's left headlight motor just last Sunday.
This Sunday I replaced Stripey's right headlight motor with a new-rebuilt one I got from Ebay.
Sometimes it didn't work and needed a little help from me.
This time I'm sure the delrin bushes are still good but the brushes in the motor itself are well worn, judging from that when it doesn't work I can just rotate the knob on the motor 1/2 a turn and the headlight popped right up nice and strong.
It almost stopped me from working on it today when I found out that the key for my wheel lock is still at my mechanic shop. Marie quickly texted me that I can just peel of the liner.. and I was like.. heh, that's right
So I did it this time without removing the wheel. Just turned the wheel all the way to the right, loosen 3 bolts that hold the wheel liner and peeled it inward.
The whole thing took me just 1 hour this time
You'll see 2 little cut out on the inside of front fender piece.
These tools are all you need for a quick headlight motor swap. 10mm socket, 8mm socket, open-end wrench, and those 3 little helpers.
New one in there, a tad too shiny glossy black from the Ebay dealer.
