Rear Hub/Disc conversion second run + Hi-spec brakes

I'm too uneducated to really understand if/why I need this...

It was design and developed to allow the use of a low cost disc to be use instead of the current rather expensive combined disc/hub.
The hubs although not that cheap but when combined with the disc still work out cheaper than the current setup and do allow you to replace the rear discs should the need arise with out replacing the whole.
Also should you need /want to upgrade the rear brakes to return the brake balance to standard then this is a must. Other wise you can continue with stock.
It is worth noting that probably more rear discs in the UK fail due to rust deposits and the MOT than actually wear out, prolonged lack of use, laid up for the winter, sticky pins etc all contribute.

I agree BB, having just had my car fail on corroded rear disks .
Cost to replace in total, including reconditioned disks, new bearings, and pads from SJ's £140 ish, although I was minded to do the bearings anyway since they've been in for about 10 years.
Cost in the future - bearing in mind I won't have to ponce around with the bearings - probably £30 ish for disks and pads, and a lot easier to do, wheel off, calliper off, old pads off, old disk off, new disk on, new pads on, calliper on, wheel on.
Of course this is assuming everything comes off easily etc

Just to let you know,
This is the last Group Buy I am doing,
ever....

or will save money in the long run.......

Great pics, I understand a lot better now......can I get the wedding out of the way first actually probably good idea to get it done first......

Going to have to run this one past the brother (silent partner!!), probably will say yes ......wonder if the car will pass the current MOT on its brakes.......what numbers do you need to make the deadline? Especially if BFG needs his MOT'd soon....

Wedding that's no excuse, as for how bad the rear discs have to get before they fail is down to the Mot guy but I had an advisory on the Mot 2 years ago so they got replaced at great expence and although the discs did not look to bad on the outside face the inner face was almost completely covered in a layer of rust which is very hard and does not wear off.
BFG when for a re-ground set of discs from SJ for the Mot cost (around the £95.00 mark) but is still getting the hubs as the reground discs will still have a minimum thickness of 10.9mm when new they are 12.65mm so if you have a pair part worn say 12mm and then grind 0.2mm off each side you are down to 11.6 so not that far to go to the minimum.

As for numbers I was going to leave it at least untill after Donington as you can not tell what interest that may introduce.

Due to demand I am going to do another run on the rears but as they require the hub conversion to fit them have decided to include them in this list that way I can see that people have the hubs and it will save me bouncing between lists.

So to that end if you want to add the rear conversion to the hubs just stick + brakes on the end and I will work it out from there.

When the time comes I will require some additional information like wheel size and type of disc etc but we can come to that later.

One thing to note the rear brake upgrade can only be done if the fronts have been upgraded or are being upgraded at the same time, I will not supply anyone who’s fronts are not suitable.
