That must be the most predictable post on this forum ! .

Not having heard any explanations until i went on the F1 website tonight, i'm still confused as to whats going on, did Trulli overtake when the SC was out or not ?, & looking at McLarens response to the verdict ( no appeal, & they thought the jury had heard the radio conversations before there original appeal ), i can't see as this should reflect on Hamilton, as the team new what he had said before they appealed, so that must of been there decision, not Hamiltons ?, am i missing something here :?

If this is true then they deserve whatever punishment they have gotten !, but was Hamilton acting under team orders ?, cause for me, although not right, it makes his case different, not that i expect you to do anything other than berate him.

You can't be serious man, that went out the window years ago, just look how Shumaker rammed Hill off the track so he could win one of his world champs, & what did the F1 supremo's do about that, SFA !, i'm afraid whatever sport, where's there big money concerned, there's always some sort of fiddling going on !

I'm no big Hamilton fan (Although I did warm to him a bit after some of the crap he took last year - especially Spa when I paid over £1000 to witness a farce) but .............

Transcript of the radio transmission between Lewis Hamilton and his team:

Team: OK Lewis, you should need to make sure your delta is positive over the safety car line. After the safety car line the delta doesn’t matter but no overtaking. No overtaking.

Lewis Hamilton: The Toyota went off in a line at the second corner, ..., is this OK?

Team: Understood, Lewis. We’ll confirm and get back to you.

LH: He was off the track. He went wide.

Team: Lewis, you need to allow the Toyota through. Allow the Toyota through now.

LH: OK.

LH: He’s slowed right down in front of me.

Team: OK, Lewis. Stay ahead for the time being. Stay ahead. We will get back to you. We are talking to Charlie.

LH: I let him past already.

Team: OK, Lewis. That’s fine. That’s fine. Hold position. Hold position.

LH: Tell Charlie I already overtook him. I just let him past.

Team: I understand Lewis. We are checking. Now can we go to yellow G 5, yellow Golf 5.

LH: I don’t have to let him past I should be able to take that position back, if he made a mistake.

Team: Yes, we understand Lewis. Let’s just do it by the book. We are asking Charlie now. You are in P4. If you hold this position. Just keep it together.

Team: OK Lewis, your KERS is full, your KERS is full. Just be aware. You can go back to black F2, black Foxtrott 2.

LH: Any news from Charlie whether I can take it back or not.

Team: Still waiting on a response Lewis, still waiting.

Team: Lewis, work on your brakes please. Front brakes are cold.

Team: If we are able to use one KERS that would be good. If you deploy KERS please do so now.

Team: OK, Lewis, this is the last lap of the race. At the end of the lap the safety car will come in, you just proceed over the line without overtaking, without overtaking. We are looking into the Trulli thing, but just hold position.

For me he did nothing wrong in the race, Trulli went off the track, Hamilton passed him legitimately and then let him get the position back on team orders (lesson learn't from Spa perhaps?) - all radio transmissions are available to the Stewards, they made a decision based on the evidence available to them yet we now have a jury after the event - and yet again another farce.

I'm dreaming - just seen a posted response, tried to reply and now it no longer exists!

I do remember the jist of it tho :-D
I also understand it was not looked at on the day - but that is hardly the fault of Hamilton. And who prompted them to look at it a few days later?
Stinks again after only one race

Interesting that Specky remembers "When F1 was brilliant and the officials were put in check" - 1991 was the same year that this happened!

Good if you're Box head.... or a Shuey Fan...

But i'm not... and that moment when Hill drove off...It was brilliant...shame he had to retire...

Senna and Prost battles were pure excitement... and you knew they'd end in tears... :-D

IMHO F1 was brilliant,

I used to watch the F1 religiously... the controversy, the overtaking, the battles, the crashes, the attitudes, the excitement, the camaraderie, the murry-isms and Brundle for adding some calming influence even when he'd just crashed out at Le Mans a few days before...

I'd rather have controversy of the kind above, rather than what happened this weekened, I'm so glad I didn't get up early to watch it...

Just for a laugh...

If you could jump in your time machine and watch Senna and Prost go at it one more time, say a bespoke 20 lap race or watch the next Grand Prix... what would you do?

I'd go back in time and enjoy the first three laps...cos it wouldn't last much longer... :D

I've gotta admit this weekend whilst watching the race.... I said to the better half..."Keke Rosberg has just retired"...

Here's looking forward to the next race, may be three safety cars and Hamilton could overtake at 16mph...

Hammy or McLaren did nothing wrong on circuit it was just because they didn`t give the full conversation between hammy & radio, thought this was going to be a good season for F1 but yet again FIA/stewards are sending F1 down the tubes

I`m actually hoping that F1 goes to sky then won`t bloody watch it

Elise Trophy and Brtish touring cars is far more interesting.

I think we'll find out this weekend that things were a little more misleading than simply not telling the whole truth. McLaren have just suspended Dave Ryan!!!!

So it seems its pretty much as i said in the 1st place, Hammy was following team orders.

All this off-track nonsense has made F1 more of a farce than Fawlty Towers.

You can blame the drivers & teams all you like, but they are just trying to wring the most out of the rules & that mainly involves finding loopholes & pushing their luck as far as they can go. Who can blame them when there is so much money involved?

The FIA are the real culprits for not getting a grip.
Stewards investigating an infringement & then waiting for 5 or 6 laps before giving a final decision? Come on, does jumping the start or speeding in the pit lane really need a delay before the decision is given? Stuff like this is a joke.
Most sports have a discretion clause in the rules ie. The referee is the sole judge of fair play. That would cut all the crap. Appeals against decisions get nowhere anyway...Ferrari excepted of course, they have always got away with murder.
No other sport REGULARLY decides the result of an event 3 days after it has finished.

So why do we continue to watch it? Because we're all petrolheads & F1 is the cutting edge of motor vehicle technology...until the F1 go & throw that aspect out of the window too, as they are threatening to do by introducing the 'standard' engine.
