Trim Technology Services Ltd (TTSL) (http://www.trim-technology.com/home.htm) are about to place an order for the last batch of seals to be manufactured by Cooper-Standard, which will provide them with the ability to supply a large number of complete hoods.
As special dispensation to LEC members they are going to offer two options at discounted prices:

Option One - Full Retrim

Customer brings car/sends complete hood and frame to TTSL in Coventry.
Webbing, elastics and canopy are then stripped and the framework is reconditioned (seriously knackered frames may not be suitable for reconditioning or may require some extra financial outlay).
Frame will then be fitted with new webbing, elastic canopy and header seal - the canopy will come in a variety of colours black (obviously) red, blue and green.
Falling and intermediate seals will be supplied and fitted at extra cost.

Price will be between £550 and £650 (dependent upon Canadian Dollar/Sterling exchange rate at time of shipping.

Option Two - Canopy Kit

Customer orders kit and states whether S2 or SE variant is required.
Kit includes:
Canopy (with tensioner wires) in a variety of colours - Black, red, blue, green.
Header Seal (to match hood header variety)
Webbing
Elastics and fitting instructions.

Price will be between £300 and £350 dependent upon same caveat as above.

Interested parties (for either option) are asked to contact Dean Holt (Trim Technology Services Ltd Sales Manager) on 0044 (0) 2476 646000.

Sy

Just come off the phone from Dean Holt – Trim Technology (the Coventry-based Hood/Trim/Seal people). They are now in a position to take bookings for hood re-trims etc.
They (Trim-Tech) have really pushed the boat out to support us Elaners on the Hood/Seal front. They have paid out a vast sum (no I’m not saying how much – that would be Commercial-in-Confidence) to Cooper-Standard (Canadian seal manufacturers) for 700 sets of seals. 250 of these sets will be used in the manufacture of complete hoods for Kia; the remainder will support us M100 owners and our desires for re-trims for our cars well into the foreseeable future.
Two levels of service will be provided:
£600+VAT for full re-trim (seals, canopy, webbing, wires etc) on to your hood frame (they may be able to supply newly built frames as well, in the not too distant future) – remember, Trim-Tech have the original jig used in the Elan’s production.
£700+ for a full re-trim (as above) but fitted to your car (in other words you won’t have to leave your hood with them and drive around topless for a while).
As an added bonus, they’re not just offering Black either. Blue, Red and Green canopies will also be available.
If you’re interested, please give Dean Holt a bell (he’ll talk hoods ‘til the cows come home) on 02476-646000.

[smiley=happyclap.gif]

Are these hoods completely OE spec (ie rear window same size as original)? Also will they ship to the states for fed spec M100s? I'm very interested as well....Jeff.

Maybe the power and influence of LEC could be leveraged to get Hethel to crank out some new M100 parts as well ;)

I would be interested in the seals alone - mine are shot. But the cost of shipping the whole friggen hood and frame to the UK and back to california has to be really expensive

Ditto that to Chicago. Will they sell just a set of seals? Personally I have just planned on buying from Cabrioworld when my original top gives up the ghost (another year left at least I think)....

https://ssl39.securedata.net/cabrioworld/detail.asp?pID=165&modelID=499

IIRC Dean's kits include everything except the rear seal.
