Yes and no. With Brian selling his Elan I don't think he'll be up for too many projects. But, I was just thinking about this project this very morning so your post couldn't be at a better time. I will send Brian an e-mail to see if he is still interested in working on the project. If not, I will contact a local machine shop to see if they can quote on it. I'll update this thread when I get some answers.

I have a bit of a window just now and would like to see if I can push the project through to completion
As I recall I had the preliminary modeling done prior to receiving a sample of the stock item - the door pull needed some tweaking, the release lever I think still had some modeling to do?

Let's see what can be done...

I'm still persevering with this, trying to get some machining costs. I've made a quick prototype to check the fit in an actual door panel, this showed some minor tweaks were required. Also, I think we would have to go with one design only to give us a chance of reasonable costs for such a low quantity - so I revised the design to hopefully appeal to most people...?

Brian, as ususal your design looks great. I'd be happy with that. The only thing I'd ask about would be this. Did you ever consider (in any of your designs) "thinning" the pull? The reason I ask is that I've always found it hard to slip my hand in behind the pull. I can certainly do it but I've always thought that if the pull was just a little bit thinner it would be easier to get my hand in there. Just a thought.

Are you also still looking into the handle as well?

The Door Pulls will be thinner in aluminum, for the very reason you've mentioned

Costs - Initial machining costs indicate a PAIR of Door Pulls will likely be just under $200? Based on producing 20 pairs.

How does that fit with peoples budgets???

Sounds good

If everything goes well with the Door Pulls, it shouldn't be a problem to follow-up with the door-release handles - they're smaller but more complex to machine, I'll get the Pulls finalized then get the release handles out for quote ASAP.
Apparently the release handles are from a Carlton / Senator?? Maybe a blingy alternate already exists???
