ETA is not clear at present and I am in the hands of Hi-Spec to some extent. Hubs should be done in about three weeks time, calipers are due to be done then but I would not hold your breath but I will start chasing Hi-spec this week as it seems if you don't they do not get done.

The photos above are of Bob's rear brakes on my car. The brakes were thoroughly bedded in at the Castle Combe track day on Saturday  and the difference they made to the car was little short of astounding  . I've had big brakes on the front for almost 6 years (Hi Spec Billet 4 and 300mm 2 piece discs) which had shifted the bias forward significantly. Whilst this was never a problem on the road on the track the rear wopuld be very light under braking, agian not a problem if you areexpecting it. On Saturday the car simply felt so much more stable under braking and my braking distances were significantly shorter as well. The conversion, hubs, discs and new calipers were an easy job to fit and I can highly recommend this if you already have a big brake set up on the front.

Hi Bob

Any news on the ETA of the rear hub and disks - Elan is going in for other work next Monday and just wondered if there was any chance of this turning up?

cheers

Just a heads up on where we are.

Hi-Spec have said the rear calipers should be done in the next couple of weeks so that probably means 3 weeks!
Now there is likley to be a delay with the fronts as they have a shortage of the boot seals and as their stock control is non existant, they work on the we have run out principal.
They have them on order but they are saying they will not get them till mid July.
So those of you who have ordered just the rears are likley to see your kits before those that have ordered both front and rears.
The hubs should be done very soon like next week.

Hi Bob,

Sorry to be a pain, but do you have any news on the hub/disc/bearing sets :?:
(as It's now nearing 'MOT time' :( )

Many thanks,

Martin.

I hope to have an update tomorrow.
A call into Hi-Spec to beat them up (got to make a call to Dartford any way) and a phone call to find out where the hubs have got to.

Update:

The hubs will be ready next week so hopefully I can start shipping those towards the end of the week
I do not have all the dosh in and you know who hasn't paid yet
Also I do not have all the names and addresses so could those of you who have not supplied details please do so by either email or PM and those of you who haven't paid.... well they aren't going any where till they are paid for.
I have to pay the £4000.00 + when I pick these up and I am covering the cost of the extras out of my own pocket.

I have spoken to Hi-Spec and they expect the fronts to be ready very soon like again next week and those who only have fronts ordered they will go out as soon as the kits are put together and boxed up.
The rears well I'm not sure but will be calling in this afternoon so will chase then.
