Maxine took the car up to her mums in Liverpool. Top down all the way. 11@mph on the M6 (By mistake). She's getting the hang of it.

I'm amazed you found enough space on the M6 to hit 110. Usually barely enough space to manage 60.

1) 110 mph on a public road?

2) Admitting to 110 mph on a public road on a board with known policemen as mods.....?

I'm sure that most of us exceed speed limits occasionally. I'm sure that many of us could point to limits being too low on certain roads.

But I'm sure that most of us would appreciate exactly why the Police have an entirely different attitude to speeds above the 'ton' and why it tends to be an automatic ban if caught.

And even given the inaccuracy of the Elan's speedo (unless you're reporting a confirmed GPS speed) an indicated 110 is getting close to the ton.

I smiled at not travelling in to London today because of the Underground strike...then finding that the lines I use are largely unaffected

He brought in a mouse from outside and plonked it down beside my chair...

...the mouse stood up on it's hind legs in front of my cat's face...

...the mouse then appeared to HEADBUTT my cat in the face!

...Toffee then sloped off, shocked and defeated, leaving me to catch supermouse.

I wish you could train the mice in my area to do that - my cooking fat keeps bringing in grisly gifts and frightening Lisa with them, fluffly little psychopath!
I get calls and texts at work from her about his latest antics, and there's sod all I can do to stop him bringing in new grotesque things to play with.

Isn't it great when they bring you half a squirrel or something? One of ours did that a few months ago, while we were eating dinner, no less!

We used to have one that brought us small items it stole from the neighbors'. Nothing valuable though, unfortunately.

One of them brought a bat to us once, and put it down on the bedroom floor. Of course, the bat was alive. It wasn't easy catching that f*cker, and getting it out of the house.

About 2 months ago, one of our cucking fats brought a baby duck to us, completely unhurt. That was the cutest gift we've gotten from them. We couldn't keep it, though, so I had to call a wildlife rescue foundation to take care of it.

I wish. A camera is on the list with the computer lessons. We picked up a new HP wireless scanner-printer last week so we are nearly there. The pool ball looks very classy. I would of liked a nice turned lump of hardwood with a lotus logo. But Max insisted on the purple #4 ball. It was dead easy. You could put the boss that's inside the stock gear knob into anything that's solid to start with. Plus its 5 mins if you decide to go back to stock. It looks more like a sports car gear stick now. Plus the shift is loads better. Shorter and more precise. The ball is very tactile as well. Andy

I took my 8 year old lad swimming this morning and parked the Lotus at the Sports Centre.

Two other lads got out of their mother's car and admired the Lotus. I heard one of them say to the other "I bet that's as good as a Bugatti Veyron!".

I didn't bother to correct him.

To all Sports Car Designers. If a 10 year boy doesn't go "Wow", you haven't designed a sports car!

Flat blown up in air bed accident

A German man has blown up his flat while trying to mend an inflatable mattress, local fire officials say.

The man from the western city of Dusseldorf used car tyre solvent to repair a hole and left it overnight.

But when he tried to inflate the mattress the next day, it was ignited by a spark from an electric air pump.

The explosion blasted the sitting room wall into a stairwell and blew out windows. Both the man, 45, and his daughter, three, suffered burns.

The fire brigade evacuated two buildings and sealed off a street while they checked for structural damage.

"The apartment looked devastated," Spiegel Online quoted a fire brigade spokesman as saying.

The paper said the cost of the damage was estimated at 20,000 euros (£17,200), and that the man would be put under investigation for causing an explosion through negligence.

What made me smile was our little weekend trip to Dusseldorf wich included a nice trip on German Tarmac with 220 km/h on the GPS
