There are a few places left (they have had some bikers drop out), and there will now be an extra 'car' session to replace a 'bike' one.
The format for the day is that each hour of track time is broken into 4 segments (one for bikes, 3 for cars), and then it will go to 'open pit lane' in the afternoon (not for bikes!).
Due to numbers involved, there will be no more than 8 cars on track at any time (probably 5 - 6), so although it is shorter than Castle Combe, it doesn't get crowded.
There is no stipulation on who can attend, or in what vehicle....
...all we ask is a safe car and a sensible (not necessarily experienced, but willing to have a go at your own pace) driver.....
...I cant say 'road legal' car, as last time there were a couple of pure race/track cars.
The list of cars for this year (not yet finalised):-
pulsar
Golf gti
Westfield
Mazda RX7
?
XR3i
XR3i
lotus elise
mgb gt kit car
GTM Libra
Integra Type R
Nova GTE
Rover 314
Toyota celica
Lotus Elan (Or Dolomite!)
Lotus Elan
The Pulsar is a full Rally car, the Rover is a shopping trolley
Usual format applies....
Safety briefing for ALL drivers (no briefing = no wrist band = no track time) - but if you are a late arrival, all is not lost, and you will only miss one session whilst you get a personal briefing.
Helmets MUST be worn by driver and passenger.
No rear-seat passengers (if you sans Elan!)
Age limits apply (but I don't know what they are - can find out if you want!)
FULL safety cover (medical and marshalls) provided.
It is your chance to get something for nothing from the Old Bill (they are subsidising the cost!).
It will cost you only £75 for the whole day - so is a billy bargain. (possibility of additional drivers for the same car).
There is NO RACING allowed, but 'timing' is an issue for youself. Last time they even allowed some track time for those who wanted a 'sole car timed lap'.
As you may gather, it is a fairly low-key day, but safety is NOT compromised in any way.
Basically, it is an ideal day out for a trackday first-timer but still a great day for an old-timer!
In the best of traditions, we'll have a list of attendees, but by putting your name on the list, it ensures nothing until you contact me and i can confirm your place. (it is a limited attendance event, and i appologise for the short notice, but until last week it was fully booked in the format as was proposed).
If anyone wants to go, just let me know - and we can ensure a space is availlable, then sort out payment (if i know you - even virtually - It may well be that I'll even stump up for you in advance, and accept payment on the day.....but no guarantees
