I got the Elan fixed late yesterday evening, but dragging a pregnant girlfriend all the way to Snetterton and back in a day would have been a bit of a tall order. So we went to Cosford instead - fantastic day and wonderful to be there to see the lady return.

The other month I walked into a hangar and was met by the Lady herself, she was having a double brakepack change amongst other things...

Ironically she looked a little lost and small next to the other aircraft in there,

I love jobs that have perks...

Now that East Kirby is looking good I wonder if they could put a Vulcan and a lancaster together  ... Saying that I just looked at my Youtube and metacafe accounts and my Waddington Vulcan video has over 10 thousand views between the two, I'm well impressed...

If anyone is around Lyneham, the old girl is due to take off about dinner time, she's been there for a few days...

Regretably I definitely have to drop out as it's the Mother in Laws 65th that weekend :( . It also throws out the Silverstone Classic for me as I'll be in Kent  .

British proven better at cutting through wind than Americans; set the speed record. Lamenting, "If only we could go back to the days of wind powered craft, in which we conquered the world."

Sounds like a good event. I'll try and get along, but I might be in Ghana working. Will have to confirm nearer the time when I know which continent I am on.

Please don't laugh at my car - I know it needs work!
Scott.

Do I buy another Elan or go for something older and different?

Not likely. We don't usually do that.
Looks like my Elan ruled itself out of this with transmission failure last night.
That doesn't mean to say I won't be there though.

I'll be back from Ghana, and i'll sacrifice the Grand prix to come along! This will cause ruptions at home, as the GP is normally worshiped like a god and if she gets wind that the elan is now up there too i will be expected to miss other GP's - my duaghters christening had to be re arranged because it clashed with a GP. Should have a new cat 1 alarm on the car by then too, and maybe even the new battery it needs! can't you tell it's pay day tomorrow!
