The earlier you are the more you get to eat. If we have traffic probs the breakfast is mobile, that way we can deal with events and make sure we catch the ferry.

Could i be so bold as to suggest an attempt to arrive at Stafford at 0830, to leave at about 0900....... (so leaving W-s-M at 0630).....

this should get us to Asda at 0947 (call it leaving at 1000 to allow for fuel top-up).....

... That'll get us to the ferry at 1030.....

These timings are all based on Microsoft Autoroute, so allow for 60mph on Motorways....

....as such, with the rush hour traffic round Gods own County, and no breakdowns - all should be well for a coffee and cereals at the survices (but it'll probably be a large-black-with-sugar-in-a-paper-cup-to-go).

Still, I'm sure Paul will get out of his unpacking the house move soon and give me the accurate times!

okay runcorn it is, will leave early so can cruise down its about 250 ish miles for us we will take breakie at penrith so will be looking for fuel and coffee at runcorn, any plans for days on i.o.m. not tracking but looking for some fast road runs, have fitted yokohama's all round and car seems better but pilots were cracked and split except for one which am keeping as spare, unless anyone searching for one its as good as new, any one running yokos has any feed back.

It all depends on the tyre you have.....

...I've got Yokohama 008R's on the front of the blue car - not brilliant on a wet track, but great on a dry one - and never a problem on a road (yet!).

They're an older design/pattern, but were the track tyre of choice in their day for many cars (and i don't remember ever seeing a mini without them).

IIRC Monty tried some of the newer ones, and hasn't had any problems. (539's????)

Just scrubbed them up yesterday on the way to GST. Seem to be really good in wet. At 30 mph they seem absolutely fine- my normal speed!!!!

And Chris makes a good Mechanic to look after those tyre pressures...

One thing I would take is a little bit hydraulic fluid for your power steering, Mine started to come out through the breather. Hitting large puddles and aquaplaning on a very wet track at 90-100 tends to give your arms a good work out....

Which compound of 888 did you go for? I've got the mediums on...

Saying all the past few days of 30 degrees heat the grip has been something else, I can now see why Monty and a like changed their seats...

yoko s306 s i have the yoko lotus lts 008 s on elise so do not know if very different tread patterns look similar got these for 80 quid a corner so with iom and everything else went for them to save money seem ok but not relly done much more than a few tight b roads at reasonble speed but give more cofidence than cracking possibly hard and perisning pilots.

OK, I'm annoyed.

Dogcamsport has let me down and I'm no longer going to have a camera this weekend now. Somehow they managed to not realise that their website was stating that shipping would start fom the begining of July when in actual fact they are not even recieving the units until the 14th!! Yes thats right, the day after I get back

Just checked the car over as shes not been run for a few days and topped up the liquids, tyres (Eagle F1's) all-round have plenty of life in them so I have no worries there but the front brake pads, although still with plenty of normal life in them, are looking a bit thin. I think I'll take some spares with me just in case!!

Now just to give her a good clean!

Would like to meet up with you all at ASDA Runcorn 930-1000 if I have the time correct say hello/meet a few owners collect gear knob and follow you through to the ferry terminal before you all depart for IOM and I return home.

I'm not sure if Paul has unpacked his 'puter yet (he moved house this week) but I'll remind him when i give him a bell tommorrow to sort out times from Somerset!

The Runcorn timings sound good to me.
