Good point - Ashby Folville ?

[rip]

hey all , just read through " ALL " this thread

You sadistic sod

[John W]

Ashby Folville? I have heard of this. Seems like a good idea. I would be up for it. Thanks for the pm Gary

[Gary]

Think it is the second Tuesday of each month - need to get there before 6 if you want to get in the field.

Basically it is a 'show what you brung' event. Costs a quid to show.

There will be all aosrts of classics there (hundreds and probably thousands of motor bikes)...

[rip]

need to get there before 6

Nice idea but Dave Eds, Nobby, Joss & myself would never be able to get there by 6. DaveT would have to turn down any lessons for most of the afternoon too.

Sounds worth going just for the event anyway.

[Paul.P]

Ashby Folville is an excellent event if its dry, as its in the cricket field, you can turn up at anytime, just that you won't get it the main field much after 6pm, but that doesn't matter if you just want to view & not so much show. As i said before, tuesdays are a problem for me nowadays as i have other commitments, but please don't let that hold you all back. I would of suggested next week was to soon, but don't suppose Gary can make the August one ?

[tezza]

hi again
sorry to sound stoopid
but where is ASHBY FOLVILLE ????????????
and how about the classic show @ thoresby hall on bank hol mon ( end aug ) , more chance of people being free to attend ? and its a nice day out
would be nice to see lots of us there dont ya fink ?
T

[Gary]

I can't make the August one as you suggested Mr P. Plan to go next week if the weather is good though. As we are now approaching holiday season I guess it will be hard to get people to commit. That is why I'd organised it prior to holiday season

[DaveT]

LMAO

[rip]

About 8-10 miles NE from Leicester.
Having never previously heard of the place, I had to look it up too.

[Dico]

Well ive been on this earth for over 50yrs now ( i know, i can't believe it either ), but ive never heard of a particular holiday season, unless your talking about the school summer hols ?, i actually thought Gary's holiday season was January to December , certainly has been the 5yrs ive known him , if this doesnt go ahead, i am thinking of a september meet at that pub in Alwalton, Peterborough, literally just off the A1, that is a more central venue, & really easy to find, so what day is best for you all ?

[Dico]

Christmas day?

[Gary]

Tuesday (seriously)

[rip]

Tuesday (seriously)

Clash with the Porsche club BBQ in Chelmsford.

I know Alwalton. East of England Showground. Speedway track. . As Paul mentions, this is signposted very well.
