SuperDaveLotus off LEF is after a second one. I didn't bid against him on his first one but now he's getting greedy - I mean, why does he need two (says he with two already). :-D

I think if you keep a lookout, you should be able to get one for less than a tenner including postage. Good luck - they're well worth it.

8) This is one cool mod - took me all of 2 minutes to do - all I needed was a mirror and a pair of rubber gloves - brilliant!
 before the ribbing starts - the gloves were so I could grip the relay better
Alas soon to be Elan-less

Happy birthday to Gerry's wiper delay - shame it took him until 18th April 2009 to get it fitted. All he needed was a Peter. :D

GeoffSmith wrote:It simply replaces the fixed period intermittent wipe. When it starts raining, you give a quick flick to the intermittent setting then off again. Next time you need to wipe the screen, you switch it over to the intermittent setting. The wipers then sweep at whatever time delay there was between the first two sweeps - ~1 second to ~1 minute.

Never saw this thread before today - I must have it! Now the hunt begins. (Emails directing me to cheap goods always appreciated)

Look on FleaBay for VW relay 99 - there are three going in the UK at the moment.

Hi all...

Put a '99' relay in a few months ago.

Intermittent works good. However got caught in a downpoor yesterday and flicked on to double fast wipe and whoooaaa... wipers stopped halfway across screen...not only coudn't see through the rain but had to move my head to see around the wiper arm!

Now, I cannot remember checking that fast wipe worked when I installed the relay...

Before I go getting another '99' relay, can someone who has fitted one confirm absolutely that their double fast wipe works as expected...

Ta!

Yes, they do. The fast wipe comes from the wiper switch so no fault of the 99 - see the Wiki.
