Great to see everyone today, big thanks to all for participating.
Martin and Graham arrived at my place in good time - just as I was frantically clearing feathers and an ex sparrow off the lounge carpet before Lisa discovered it and lost her breakfast (thanks Montster)!
At exactly the same time Dave Eds rang to break the news that he, Rip and Nobby were ALREADY at the services.
So we got our skates on with no time to spare, and 15 minutes into the journey Lisa turned to tell me that she thought she'd left the iron on, and asked "what's the worst that could happen?"!

Fortunately I always leave a key secreted just in case I lock myself out, so rang a neighbour to check for us, and carried on regardless.
After a pleasant journey (apart from the aforementioned surprise) we arrived at the services approx 5 mins late, but with not another Elan in sight.
I rang Dave and it turned out he and the others were at some other services just round the corner, and they joined us straight away.
Then just as we were about to set off my phone rang again. This time it was Scott checking if it would still be possible to join us at the destination. Obviously I replied "with pleasure, see you there", and off we went again, now in a convoy of 5.
Is it my imagination or was EVERYONE going to Skegness today?!? The main A roads were attrocious. Fortunately we only had to endure them for a mile or so before turning off onto the interesting stuff, and didn't see much more traffic until we got to Horncastle.
The alternative road out of Horncastle is fantastic, and a good time was had by (just about) all - at the end of it I gathered us all back together, much to the surprise of a Peugeot estate driver who almost ran into the back of another car while gawking at us, and we had a relaxing drive through all his tyre smoke and the final couple of miles to the airfield.
When we arrived at the airfield 4 more Elans were waiting for us, piloted by Specky, Muley, Saska and Steve. Just Jane was also waiting for us, looking resplendent. They had pulled her out of the hangar for us, but unfortunately weren't going to start the engines and taxi her.
Not long after, Scott arrived and parked up with us in front of the control tower.
We had a bit of "mooch about" some of the exhibits before meeting at noon to get the Elans lined up next to the side of the Lancaster.
That went rather well so we then got ambitious and moved them into a line in front of it.
Unfortunately at that point it went slightly downhill, sounding something like this:
Specky: "Mind that prop."
Rip: "What prop? Ow!"
Apparently Rip left a piece of his head as a souvenir for Just Jane - like I said at the time, the more folically challenged of us have less of an "early warning system" than for example the Muleys of this world.
Still, other than a minor head injury I think a good time was had by all.
Here are few snaps of the event.
