Bob - if you want me to run some up to East Kirkby next Saturday let me know

The only one that appears to be on both lists is Martin Bailey, but someone else who's going may be able to assst too.

Not sure if I'm reading you right Dave... but I'm up here, or thereabouts, too, and am on the list for hubs + front AND rear brakes.
I can travel within reason to pick them up if it makes it easier for anyone.

Or I could just be patient and wait for Bob to post them out when he's ready!

Dave I am assuming you are off on this little jolly viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9366 so I should be able to get Martin's parts to you before then.

Those of you with brake upgrades as well that is a different story

Bob,
I'm hopefully going to that as well so my delayed first run rear conversion can probably be delivered via Dave if possible

That will be a tad difficult, as I do not have the rear calipers yet!

Bob ... parts received ..... many thanks once again, for organising the group buy ......... your efforts are much appreciated

Dave ... also many thanks to you ....for getting these to me, during yesterday's East Kirkby jaunt :!:

(Note to self ........ consider fitting a luggage net, to restrain heavy items in the boot when chasing other Elans through the Lincolnshire cuntryside :D )

Cheers guys,

Martin.

I know it's not your fault Bob, but what on earth is up with Hispec? They've had months to fill the order and are weeks behind their own estimate for getting stock in - are they so small, inefficient or swamped by their own success that they can't keep up, or is there another story?!

hoping for a brake upgrade in 2009 at least,

Anyone who has dealt with Hi-Spec will know the issues, I think the situation with the rears is compounded by the fact I did not want their standard configuration or their standard levers. You would have thought they had a handle on this now from the first run but apparently not. The statement from the owner was that he did not expect them to take as long as the first run but this is beginning to look like this is not the case.
So far it has taken over 11 weeks but the end should be in sight I hope.

I am collecting the hubs Thursday and for those of you who are just after the hubs will get them off to you very shortly
I do not have details for every one on the list, and have not had all the money in, I have to pay for these when I pick them up and although I took it upon myself to bank role the extras I did not expect to pay for more than the extras.

Those of you after brakes as well I have nearly all the front calipers (missing 2 pairs) and those only requiring front they will go out next week. The rears I am going to chase tomorrow and should have a clearer picture as to what the situation is then but they should be done if not very close.

Once the rear calipers are collected it is just a case of putting all the bits together in a box and getting them out of the door.
Sounds easy but even just boxing them up takes time as the parts all have to be checked off against what was ordered and secured in the box so they do not get damaged in transit.

For those who have the rears installed already, how securely does the emergency-brake feel & operate? It certainly looks good in the picture.
Strive for perfection in everything. (given time)
Take the best that exists & make it better. (given inclination)
If it doesn't exist, create it. (God did)
Ignore what I say. (good advice)

Hi Bob - all me bits arrived today - the hubs are a work of art - as are the gear cables - (they run as smooth as a smooth thing on smooth Tuesday) - as was the packing, many thanks for sorting this out - now all I have to do is wait for my rear disks to fail at MOT.........which they probably won't for a few years now........oh and fit the handbrake cables.......which also are working fine at the moment

Many thanks for this

Kind regards

BFG

BFG in the BRG handbrake cables even!
If you are storing the hubs I would coat them in grease or wrap in VCI anti rust paper.
