Le Mans Classic 9th July 2010 and Brittany Break 2010

The dates have now been announced for LE MANS CLASSIC 2010. They are Friday 9th July through to Sunday 11th July. Further details can be found on the official website....

As this is a bi-annual event it gives us plenty of time to organise! My understanding is that this is a fantastic event encapsulating a real feel of racing from a more naive motorsport past in the days before health and safety ruined the authentic flavour of Gentlemen’s racing.

As I am sure many people will pass coment on how good Le Mans Classic really is I need say no more.

In 2008 I arranged a week in Brittany to follow this event and have been asked if I could do the same again. This was extremely successful and helped by beautiful weather throughout. Details of this can be found here.

For some track time if anyone would be interested (if any of our French LEC members or fluent French speakers would like to help arrange this it would be appreciated ).

The museum is truly brilliant with many excellent historic racers and Formula 1 cars.

My parents kindly agreed to provide various accomodation options as per 2008 (i will confirm details once interest can be gauged). I have attached a couple of photos..

I could be interested in this as I would like to do the classic, I just need authority to go to Le Mans twice next year and on the assumption I'll be in the country. Let me work on the authority bit, the other is largely beyond my control.

I`ve never been to Le Mans so i`m interested but it`ll be next year when i`ll make a 100% comitment.

If there`s a trackday all the better, maybe LoT will have somethig on around that time

Ive been every year since it started........and I love it...
its great.....not quite the real 24hrs but just to see some of the cars and hear them....what can you say....
Id also like to point out that its not just a spectacle........its propper foot to the floor racing.....
if you think its just a parade of vintage le mans cars youre very much mistaken......

When I spoke to my parents about this, I set them some challenges

1) To approach the museum to enquire about use of track.
2) To arrange another treasure hunt (More devious then last time).

Help appreciated in negotiating with the museum (link at top of thread) regards possibility of lotus track day?

My French is only up to grade C GCSE, and a few years rusty

Accomodation for Brittany break is now limited to Camping only, as both the Gite and Bed and Breakfast facilities have already been provisionaly booked. (I will update if there are any changes)

Camping space is adequate for aprox 10 tents? (sure someone will correct me if I am wrong).

There is a shower and toilet facility available for the campers.

Obviously space is limited, so first come first served.

In the spirit of LEC we had better have a list or two Obviously this far ahead a lot of details will be TBC.

Iain, just to let you know that I got our tickets for the LMC via Club Lotus. These tickets are special club tickets which get you into the special club areas within the Bugatti circuit. This is well worth doing as there is a considerable cost saving by going via a Club. Worth joining CL as you get your money back in the saving on the tickets.

Presumably you are also talking about camping at the circuit as well then unless you have any ideas. Last year we stayed at a B&B which was about 25 miles away. This was a bit too far IMHO. Any thoughts on this guys??

How many will be camping at Le Mans. If none then i have the offer of accomodation but I'd rather be with fellow LECers; also the accomodation is about 45mins away. I need to make my mind up about the offered accomodation ASAP so early input would be appreciated. I will camp at Iains too if the Gite is not available. My mate is chasing CL re orgnising the tickets so I will give details as and when i know them.
