Postby jankushka » Wed 19.08.2009, 17:17

now, i don't have to break it anymore.
it'll come off using a pair of needle nose pliers.
i'll fit a new one if ever i sell the car.

Looks facory :D But i have had my door panels on & off half a dozen times each now and every time i manage it without breaking the clip, in fact i dont even try to remove it the hard way anymore. I simply undo EVERY screw holding the panel on and this allows a little wiggle room for the panel to drop down at the front, then i grab the top of the lock pin and pull it upwards as far as i can (there is sufficient play and give in the linkage that it will come up clear of the top edge of the panel) then i can turn it and pop the clip off from behind. Your results may vary but i'm over a dozen and no broken clips 8)

The clips are amazingly cheap. I struggled to take the first one off. When I ordered window parts I found that the clips were only a few cents and ordered a dozen.
