I have been talking to Nitron www.nitron.co.uk/ about this and it is looking like they can produce a kit for both the front and rear for around £1250.00 including VAT.
That is all 4 dampers and new Eibach springs ready to slot in, OK not cheap but then it is not a low end product also it is worth mentioning the dampers can be rebuilt so you never need to replace them again just get them rebuilt http://www.nitron.co.uk/services_servicing.htm .
As this cost is numbers dependant and the indicated price is for a minimum of 20 could you indicate if this is acceptable or not, to save any confusion then could you just remove your name from the list.
The final setup work will be carried out a car, yet to be selected and if you are interested in being the guinea pig please let me know, ideally some one who is close to Witney in Oxfordshire, I'd use mine but it is a N/A and it would be better on a Turbo car.
Also they have offered to provide a fitting service and also a suspension alignment check (prices to be agreed)

After having various engine work done and getting the HiSpec brkaes all round, my suspension is definitely the new 'weak point' on the car. £1250 sounds about right, given this is what it cost to upgrade the brakes on all 4 corners. Only additional query for me, as I would be attempting to fit myself, it would be good to have all required nuts and bolts as part of the fitting kit as I suspect the existing ones will be seized/rusted and get destroyed in the disassemly process :-)

Will this still be a version with both main and helper springs?
I think it's a good price, considering the components and assuming that it's a serious step up on the OE setup. However, it's a lot, I'm still interested but I don't think I'd be breaking out the chequebook until I'd seen the results in action on another car...

Bob, I'm thinking I'm not the only one with a Fed car on this list. Will these be suitable for the Fed car given the suspension differences between it and the Uk spec car? I know you were going to look at this at some point and I don't know if you ever found the time. Thanks.

As the top mounts will be different e.g. a ball mount in an aluminium housing which will bolt to the existing spring mounting (three bolts) that will be all new and the bottom of the rear is not a major problem it is the front that may be an issue.

The lower yoke bolt carries the ball joint for the anti roll bar and may prove troublesome a. to remove and refit and also replace if needed. It may be an option to change this to a rose type joint with a rubber boot.

I do not think the US cars will present a problem as the whole system can be customised with regards to spring and damper rates etc to suit.

The spring setup has yet to be sorted the main issue is the front dampers, another problem may be the number of people that are willing to commit as there are some development costs and one or two are not going to make this work and the more that are willing to commit the less the final price is likley to be.
The base kit for the Elise is £1144.25 including VAT and the Elise is a straight forward eye mount top and bottom so less cost as less parts needed.
The retail price is more in the £1500.00 + VAT region and they did say that they would retail the product at about that sort of price
So I will take it you are a no.

Bob

Note: I have been a little conservative with the price as it is easy to come down but you'll all be jumping up and down if it goes up

I have Nitrons on my VX and I am very pleased with them. The dampers are adjustable though which I assume the ones that have been quoted above aren't. I'm still in on the GB though.

The cost of the Nitrons (with Nitrons own springs) cost me £1300 for the VX. They are adjustable though. A lot of the VX guys have gone for Gaz adjustable coilovers which cost in the region of £450. Is there any merit in contacting them to see if they can offer a cheaper/alternative?

eta/ with eibach and nitron kit you are getting top end quality though.
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

Thats more expensive than i thought it would be, but i suppose you get what you pay for and Pinky is in need of a propper setup.

I don`t mine being the guinea pig if there`s a good deal  and i`ve also got trackdays coming up so would be a good test :burnout: i could drive to Oxford if it can be done in a day or do they need the car for a longer period?

Is there still going to be a version for us trackday users?
