I had a blast around Malvern and Ledbury at the weekend along with a dozen 3 wheel Morgans and TR6s.

Calling someone with local knowledge to organise us a convoy. :burnout:

Some excellent twisty country roads in Herfordshire but I won't be going. Too busy sunning my honed 6 pack in Greece

PS Some excellend hostelries in the county as well (see the Good Pub Guide)

The best place to meet for a convoy would be M5 junction southbound services. We could then exit the M way system at M50 junction 1 onto the A38 and then onwards to Malvern showground. As Rambo says there are some good roads around that area so it would depend how far you wanted to convoy. The shortest route would be approx 12miles via Upton on Severn.

I gather from the interest shown here that there will be no convoy to the showground.

Given that people will be travelling at different times on different days and from different directions a fully co-ordinated convoy might be challenging. However I propose that an RV at the M5 services as you suggest is worth doing for those that can. I'll get my planning head on this weekend and make some posts once I've got it clear in my mind.

Lokking at the list of those whio have said they are coming I would have thought the majority are approaching from the south? An RV at Strensham services (M5/M50 junction) for those that want to convoy in seems obvious? If the majority are approaching from the south then the northbound services seem the better option for most but you will know where you are coming from better than me and I'll willingly defer to local knowledge of the road layout. Do the southbound services offer better access to the routes off the motorway to the sale? The show opens to the Public at 0930 and limited indoor parking is available on a first come first served basis. That suggests an RV from 0845 and a departure from the RV at 0915.

Nige, I think the services are after the M50 turn and no easy exit for the showground. What about Brockenridge Road just off M50 J1 or somewhere North of Tewkesbury (well worth going through) on the A38?

There appears to be a layby just North of M50 J1 on the A38 at 52.042756,-2.169924.

Nige, Geoff is right, going north you have to go to J7 to get of the M5.

An alternative to the layby is the Hilton Puckrup Hall Hotel which is 0.5 miles from M50 J1 on the A38 heading for Tewkesbury. I have just spoken to them and they are happy to receive us and we can go in for coffee if needed.

The hotel is at http://www.hilton.co.uk/tewkesbury?WT.srch=1 , post code GL20 6EL, 52.1'.42" N; 2.9'.51" W.

The show ground is 9 miles away on easy roads.

OR there is a large public carpark in Upton on Severn which is 5miles from the show ground but no coffee, 52.3'.53" N; 2.13'.5" W.

Geoff and Geoff, thanks for the local knowledge. The Hilton Puckrup Hall Hotel looks ideal as an RV, thanks for asking them and the option of a coffee sounds good for those who've travelled on the day. As for timings then an arrival from 0845 or so for a departure at 0915 to arrive at the sale as it opens and hopefully get some of the first come first served parking sounds like a plan to me.

I will contact the hotel nearer the day to confirm our plans. For those who will require coffee can I suggest arriving a little earlier as it will be breakfast time for the other patrons and it may be busy.
