Injectors.: RC Engineering PL8 550cc

Postby Dico » Wed 14.10.2009, 12:19

I've been given a price of £353 (including vat) for 4 X Injectors.: RC Engineering PL8 550cc Bosch style tops, from this company in the UK -

http://www.futuremotorsports.com/listIt ... 0ce9a0585d

Note- the prices on their homepage are out of date.

Has anyone bettered this price? Seems theres not too much to choose from here in Blighty.
I'm also assuming I don't need the piggytail wiring harness and that the existing wiring will be fine?

Cheers, Dico

Includes dreaded & delivery?

Scope for a group buy?

I'm under the impression that Bosch style is just plug n play, but not certain.

Has to worth asking about a group buy although it's unlikely to be a big one as these are only relevant if going all the way with Maries turbo conversion.

Even 5 sets may get a discount... looks like we're already close to three.

Sorry meant to mention includes vat, and I only just about managed to persuade him to throw in free delivery!

I'll certainly check for a group buy if we get 5 or so interested but don't hold out for a big discount.

Of course we can look over the pond but as usual the old vat and import duty is a killer.

I'm pretty sure they are the ones we need and are a straight swap, the electrical connectors on our car fit directly to this specific style of injector. Perhaps someone whio has fitted new injectors can confirm? The write up on the main pages Here certainly suggests these are the ones.

I really don't think he'll give us much (if any) discount on 4 sets.

Any other suggestions folks or should we just bite the bullet and splash out some big bucks?

I've sent a message to this company asking for a price for 16 shipped to the Uk.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... OTORS:1123

(Different type in this ad, and i've asked for the Bosch type tops)
I'll update when I get a reply.

Just to make you aware thats those are the wrong injectors as they are PL9 :poke:

BTW, if there not much cheaper than $ 98.75 each you might as well order them direct from http://www.rceng.com/ they may also do a group buy :?

Had a reply-

OK, so you need 16 Bosch style injectors, low impedance, in a 550cc size?

Those would cost $1295 for the 16 injectors, plus a charge of $35 for shipping with USPS Express Mail with tracking, delivery in about 5 business days.

Thank you,

"low impedance" Huh? Am I on the right track here?

Yep Monts, may be worth contacting RS direct also.
So thats a tad over £200 each plus distribution once in the UK (theres the possibility of import tax) if theres 4 of us in.
