replacement l/h wing mirror glas needed

Postby dans » Mon 19.10.2009, 13:25

Hi,

Mines just fallen off on the motorway :(

Have had a read around but can't seen anywhere obvious to get the replacement glass from.

Anyone got any suggestions? Or a spare they'd be interested in selling?

Thanks for your help,
Cheers,
Dan

Hi,

I think that both sides have the same glass, just one is the other way up. They were on one of the lotus parts sale lists a while back, and when I asked them a couple of months ago, they let me buy one at the sale price. The one I bought is an offside one, with "Objects appear closer..." etched in the glass. If you can only get this one, then in principle, you can take off your offside one, put it on the nearside, and then put your new one on the offside which makes the writing the right way up!

Hope that helps,

Owen

hi, thanks for the reply. good info.
Do I need to go through a dealer to get the part, or can they be ordered directly? There doesn't seem to be any reference to parts on the Lotus website anymore!

Thanks again!

I've dropped a mail to Lotus but have also found that Bell & Covill have them listed

It seems to me as the glass is not symmetric. If so... the mechnical layout in the mirrorpods must be different, mustn´t they?
