Upgrade session also included replacing the fans(thanks Gordon), addition of O2 sensor and closed loop programs through a V5 switcher, 15" to 16" brake upgrade with Hispec Rears, Bob's rear hub upgrade ( thanks Bob) new handbrake cables and added the pneumatic silencer to the BOV.

Still to do:

3bar Map
boost controller ( upgrading the mark I right foot)

And they opened Chapmans Peak Drive yesterday: Click on this - http://www.chapmanspeakdrive.co.za/ - I live at the bottom of this drive. Toll went up to 28Rands ( £2)

Hows the car running on the stock injectors and Mountain chip?

Good job!!! Just one minor tidbit. The turbo heatsheild mount needs to be moved back to the bolthole nearest the manifold roughly at the 10 o'clock position. This will give a better look and functionality. The angle cut in the front of the shield matches that of the bodywork. Don't forget to leave space in between the turbine housing, the shield and all associated bodywork. Good job again!!! Bravo!!! What do you think?

i'm curious, is anyone header wrapping the downpipe? i know it's the not the most beautiful thing, but it sure does keep that heat down.

fyi, that's DEI header wrap (they make a TITANIUM wrap as well), EGT, wideband bung and v-band. thank you luv (LGM) for the DP parts and getting it started, you're my lil car angel

great, they are shiny and won't rust! radiant heat isn't entirely eliminated by a ceramic coating. it helps, but not like enclosing it and distributing that heat through a heat defusing fiber.

Hi Guys,

Just back from a week's vacation in the Tankwa Karoo National Park with the family Peace and tranquility.

I had barely time to post the pictures before I left. I started up and ran until the fans came on and tested while still on the stands. The oil smoke was a bit disconcerting but nothing fell off and it all looked fine up to 5500RPM.

Anyway this evening I got the car off the stands and ran it round the block a few times to get some confidence in my handiwork and get the computer learning the new engine set up.

THanks Marie for the feedback on the bolt - I'll swap it over. Monty I'm running stock injectors with the V5 switcher and it's running fine, Boost is controlled at 0.6 or 0.9 as per the program being used. It does need a really good run - hopefully tomorrow or Sunday and then I can report back properly.

Now I'm keen to get those injectors.

in the case someone does wrap their pipe, please DO NOT over wrap, it can cause damage over time by making the steel weak and brittle. try and keep the over lap to a half inch.

28 Rand is more like £2.80 now but well worth it.

Install due any time now. 1) is sealant required alongside the gaskets, and 2) is copperslip recommended for nuts/bolts.

Ok, i`ll soon be starting to fit Dico`s Turbo upgrade for him (his Blue Beast is already on my drive )

Dico`s manifold came with the adaptor plate already fitted as these where Jet hot coated but i can`t tell if a gasket was used as there is no gasket for it in the kit, so do i need to remove the adaptor plate from the manifold and seal it? (maybe only Marie knows the answer to that one )

I wondered that too - As per Marie's previous post - copper seal between the manifold and the adapter plate, the supplied gasket between the adapter plater and turbo.....

You do need to take off the adapter plate from the manifold - it isn't torqued up and there is no copper seal ( at least that's how mine came !) I had the full ceramic treatment too.....it's great stuff.

Monty - it's in my mutterings I collected and sent to Dico......did he press the send button on his email??
