I'm sure the springs are the same for the Se and the S2 and it is just the dampers that are different. Found that all out when trying to buy unavailable S2 dampers.

It can get a bit confusing but looking at the parts list the SE and S2 run the same springs, with the N/A having different fronts (lighter car) and the Fed having front and rears different (heavier car) plus I believe the latter runs a slightly higher ride height.
As the dampers are adjustable for both bump and rebound I am hoping that there is enough adjustment to enable all the cars to be accommodated in the one damper but it is not a problem if it is not.
I do not know at this point what the range of damping increase or decrease is covered but it is not like the normal twin tube design like Protech, or Gaz as they have a large range and not very linear.
The trick is to match the dampers to the springs and the un-sprung weight will have an effect on the dampers all be it small. If you take the kerb weight differences per wheel with the SE as the bench mark the N/A is 22kg lighter on the front and the Fed is 14Kg heavier, the rear reads N/A 4kg lighter and the Fed is 1/2kg lighter must be all that crash structure on the front makes it lighter on the back than the SE.

As far as the rims are concerned the S2 is 1.2kg heavier than the 15" OZ rim plus of course a difference in tyre weights mind you it does show the lengths Lotus went to.

come on 4 more - you'll kick yourself if you miss out this deal. Anyone with ancient dampers/springs which is most of us should be seriously considering this as OEM stock is very difficult to get hold of.

How would Nitron/Eibach be with a GB of 16??

I'll ask the question on Monday, but I do not think it should make too much difference

Chris
They are already working on the design as the front requires a bit of work as far as the damper body and the top mounts, will give them a call on Monday and see what progress has been made

A bit behind here but here's an update

Nitron have just about sorted the front and have come up with two options one is to retain the original top damper mount and the other is to use a pillow ball top mount.
Lotus Elan Fr_v01a.jpg

The standard top mount will reduce the road noise transmitted into the car so may be the way to go for road cars and the pillow ball option is much more controlled in terms of damper position so should prove better on the track.
As far as final costs are concerned they are being calculated now including an all whistle and bells option with remote reservoir and multi adjustments for damping.

What I need now is a car to test the installation on and to fine tune the springs and damper rates, they have said they should be able to do it in a day if they start early so who's up for it once I have some firm prices, ideally a standard road car that is running standard suspension as this gives a good base point to work from, one that has had the suspension modified will not give us the best results so I will discount those at this stage (sorry Monty)

Plan of action is to do the first car in second week in December and fine tune the kit as it is all very well on paper but the proof of the pudding..............
Then the kits should be ready mid Jan just awaiting final prices as they were supposed to get back to me today so will chase tomorrow.
