Okay, I've lived in Northern California for 7 years now, and have only seen Elans under arranged circumstances.
Well it just so happens I have seen 2 red Elans in the last week.
One southbound on the 101 in Santa Rosa a week ago, and the other on Trancas in Napa at 7am last Thursday.
both times my eye spotted the Elan's shape at least 1/4 mile away!

I challenged her about that (she doesn't tell me anything  )...

Some excuse about getting lost on the way to Cadbury Garden Centre, and having to turn round

Shame about the indicator coming on every time you used the flick wipe though :-D

I'm guessing someone was trying out their new toy.
