But really was asking if it would be cool for a data plate to be made up to stick under control !!!

Cool is whatever you like 8)
I would like it, if it was very small and has OEM-looking engravings.

Is anyone familiar with G-Force Chips out of California? They are advertising a Chip for the M100
for $69.00.

Does anyone have any experience with them...Elan..or other car?

I wouldn't trust anything in an Elan other than something which was developed by an owner, and an enthusiast.
Which narrows it down to just one brand.
For the sake of another $100, why would you risk your engine?

I had a quick look and it attaches to the two wires wires going to the AIT (air intake temperature I guess) sensor. It claims to 'reprogram' the ECU somehow, although how it could achieve this via a sensor input is a mystery to me. It fact I would guess it offsets the temperature reading a bit which makes the ECU fuel and time differently because it receives a different temperature. It's probably little more than a resistor or two. Look here and you might form the view that the approach does make the differences claimed but in the wrong direction (n.b. The Elan wasn't tested).

:agree: ..... and a total ripoff for something that is intended to fool the ECU into running the engine lean (burnt pistons anyone). As I've said before on these sorts of device, I can sell you one for 10GPB - I can even make it adjustable........ the Corsa drivers love them.

I agree. I knew something was fishy when I saw the chip listing for a 1963 Triumph Spitfire

Only ESM can answer the first question.
They have a very slightly higher limit than the stock ECU so if you are only just getting overboost, then the little bit extra may just be enough to make a difference, but don't count on it.

I would definately prefer to obtain one of the chips that was designed for the Elan, I thought that they were not available at the moment.
If they are available once again..I would definately like to purchase one.

Are they available again? :?:

They will be quite soon. I posted an update on the chip info. thread.

EXCELLENT, Great to hear. My Elan has been sitting for the better part of a year...my Esprit as well. I took the Esprit out once this year on a road trip to
Road Atlanta to see Doc bundy run the old X180 cars....and was hoping to take the Elan to Road Atlanta for the SVRA Fall finale....but most probably won't make it.

Never the less, I would like to have a few things on the Elan sorted for the Vintage races in early spring at Road Atlanta.

Cheers! :-D
