Have my M100 stored for winter on starting it today tried to drive forward no 1st,3rd,5th gear selectable just a floppy stick where they should be - 2nd,4th and reverse OK. As I am in Italy 170km from a Lotus Dealer any clues as what it may be so I can tell the local mechanic, and get necessary parts ordered ?

there is a temp fix with a couple of cable ties which will allow you to use the car a little.....but I wouldnt rely on it for too long......

Thanks - I will get new cables ordered and sent out here - at least the mechanics here are used to Lamborghinis (tractors that is)

I've got this problem now. I'm actually in Holland, as it went wrong on the way to the boat, so as I was visiting a friend a few kilometres the other site I chanced it. Drove well in 2nd, 4th and Reverse, but then it was only local roads. Would you chance it back or get it fixed over here provided I can get the cables. There is a Lotus service place in Delft, which is not far away.

Drove mine to garage only about 7km this morning - not enjoyable.
Worth trying a local mechanic in case there is a quick fix - a clip slipped or something.

Hey!
I'm from Delft!
If you need anything or a place to stay, just say the word an we'll work something out!
Got a well equiped garage as well, and, unfortunately, lot's of gearcable change experience as well...
PM me, I'll give you my number.

classicaitalia,
Have a look
here for a fix which might save you buying new cables, or at least get you back on teh road until the new ones arrive.

Home in Suffolk now after a pleasant drive through the villages. Hook-Harwich Ferry was no problem, except that they delay you for two hours, so they can sell you breakfast.
Now to get the cables and get the garage to fit them. They're only two miles away!
Has anybody got the phone number for AB Cables in the UK?
TIA.
James

I got mine directly from Alan Betts who is a member of this Forum.
They were delivered within a week including the bank transfer and went straight through customs with no extra charge.
I will PM you his direct email.
