Accomodation is probably going to be the biggest initial challenge caused by the change of venue from Donington to Malvern. With Donington being next to an airport there are a number of reasonably priced hotels and of course the very convenient Travelodge. Ideally , the fewer location people are in the better if getting people to and from Friday and Saturday evening socials is to be arranged, but where you stay is your choice and there are a number of decent B&Bs in the area.

Please post any recommendations for accommodation and where you will be staying here.

There's a TraveLodge in Worcester, just down the road from Malvern. Cheap and cheerful, albeit souless.

Dave Pink has already recommended the Tarrington Arms on the Hereford/Ledbury road

Not too far from the 3 counties showground and it does good beer and barfood. And I think his brother may be able to suss out camping if anyone's interested ?

For a sensible answer - don't ask me either :lol:

But if pressed, I'd have to say "Not huge".

There is a road frontage with some parking, and an enclosed car park round the side/back - from the Google map satellite I'd suspect that 25 cars would be about it

However, there is an industrial place a couple of hundred yards away with lots of space (if you go to the satellite image, look behind the pub, follow school road, and just opposite the school)

Tarrington is 14 miles from the showground (according to Mr Google), going via Ledbury (ring road) - all on quite nice 'A' roads.

If that is considered too far away for a convoy, then so be it

I'm sure someone with more knowledge can suggest somewhere suitable to meet up which is closer (but I for one always thought the trip from the Travelodge to Donington was a bit short for a decent run :burnout:

) - There is a fine balance in getting organised for a good run, and getting split up / detracting from the 'mass arrival', - I will defer to people who have done the marvelous job in the past to offer opinions.

Trouble with Tarrington is that it's miles away from the motorway (for anyone arriving on the morning) and based on my recent journey through Ledbury to the Worcester road (though 100m of single width road with traffic lights at each end), the convoy will get split up big time. Geoff's proposal for using the A38 layby looks good though.

this event seems to need a bit nore co-ordinating and turning out to be a bit sparse in the big cheap hotel with big car park front..........
cheap, all together, big car park ......all appears to be a big ask....... :-D

No car park at Worcester Travelodge itself. You can currently get 2 nights for £38 per room which is a real bargain but you have to remember to factor in NCP parking charges for Fri. and Sat. nights

right done some looking.......just trying to solve a couple of problems.....
a) parking
b) getting most people in one place.....(for eating, drinking and convoying..)

so to that end...what do people think????

sooner rather than later I reckon...
however Id suggest sharing twin rooms for friends as its gotta make it cheaper.......
if anyone is thinking of bringing the missus they can still ask for a twin if they want....

I reckon we need to get about 20 rooms sorted.....once we've done I'll open it to the LEF boys if you want...

Just to clarify does £80.00 for the room cover 2 people e.g. SWMBO and me and £25.00 evening meal for 1 or 2?
Just when you look on line the prices are a little different like B and B at £125.00

Ive just spoken to then to organise a discount.....
I was just trying to find a hotel that would be able to accomodate most of us, that had good parking and gave us a good blast into the show for the convoy.....
