The 2009 event was fantastic for those who like historic racing, getting close to drivers and the pits and smelling burning oil, brakes and clutches. You could even get fairly close to the Pussy Cat Dolls LOL

This years event is currently taking format and for those who want to go you can get tickets now. By a bit of detective work I have found that if you insert sc10clo at the "special offer code" box you can get 2 sets of tickets for the price of one So, a 3 day w/e ticket will only cost £75.60 +£2 admin fee. If you can persuade a friend to go that only works out at <£39 pp

I'll be going, so anyone want 1st dibs on the other half of my tickets ?

The Lotus Drivers Club will have a stand there again this year so if anyone is interested in having your car on show keep an eye on this page ... an entry form will be available and also a discount code for ldc members

Been to this for the last few years and it is a great event, particularly if the weather is good.

So far there's me, Jim and his 2 sons. That's 4 of us and Jim and I have purchased the 2 for 1 deals making it under £40 for a 3 days of racing and a couple of concerts. Bargain.

Jim is looking into other campsites. Last year we stayed at Shittlebury (Whittlebury) and it was OK although a very long hike to the race track as they kept on closing the nearest access points. By the time you walked to the track, walked about in the inner circuit and then back to the campsite for tea you'd done about 6 miles. Then back for the evening concerts you could double that. Multiply by 3 days and you'd clocked up about 36 miles No wonder I've got a sore hip I even looked at buying a go-ped or a collapsible bike for this year

I've emailed them (they've got the date wrong on their website )

There's another nearby one but it's £20 per night 'first come-first served' - not for me.

I think this is where I stayed, literally across the road from the main entrance, cheap (though lmited facilties) but good enough.

iirc there is a guy on the gate just taking the cash. No set pitches and loads of space so I have never bothered to book, probably different for the F1 but no problems just turning up for the Classic.

If not, as long as you are in within the specified times you are welcome to park up in the Lotus Drivers Club stand area. Unfortunately we do not know exactly where we will be again this year but usually plenty of room for Lotus enthusiasts.
