I will definitely be going to the LMC, how many others are going before going up to Brittany. My plan is to stay at the Gite from monday 12/7 to sunday 18/7. Does this length of stay fit with others plans?

I am going to the LMC - its proving tricky to find tickets yet (have I missed something?). Not sure where I will stay yet - or even who I will take (the Mrs. or the lad...).

Does it get really busy and packed (i.e. should I book a hotel/campsite this year to be close?)

How is everyone thinking of getting there? Ferry from pompey? the tunnel? ....

Best way to get tickets is to join Club Lotus. The tickets include parking within the circuit with other lotus cars. The tickets are a lot cheaper too. As for accomodation, camping would be my last resort but that's me. I will be going from Dover but I'm contemplating taking wednesday and thursday to get there so that i can drive some of the great french roads rather than the peage.

The LMC is getting more and more popular so my advice is to start looking for accomodation now.

Im going and so's my car...
and about another 6 cars....we do camping generally.....its a 5/6 day weekend.......lots of beer:)...oh and the odd bit of food.....
and all this whilst watching the racing
we do our own organisation but we (CLOG) are one of the affiliated clubs and get a mention in the programme.....
well 2 of us do the 'official' pics for the ACO and the very expensive watch people
tends to cost us about £300~ for the whole thing although Im not sure about the cost of 2010 yet
if I were you I start getting sorted sooner rather than later as its all usually booked up by christmas.....ferry and accomodation that is.....general access tickets are available on the day if you so wish

I've got annual leave booked from 7th to 20th - so those dates are there or thereabouts (as far as I know!) when we'll be "En France" for a week

We are thinking of using this company who do complete packages at a reasonable price. Maybe a little more expensive than booking things seperately but much easier for the novice.

I've been chatting to Nick on what we need to get booked for this and so far have this.

Ferry Dover-Calais - £20 - 8:30 on 09/07

Arrive Le-Mans approx 15:00

Le-Mans full weekend tickets - £40 (€46)
Le-Mans weekend Camping (Bleu Nord) - £65 (€75)

Brittany Camping (6 Nights?) - £26 (€30)

Ferry Calais-Dover - £25 - 16:10 on 17/07

Anything we are missing as this is our first time and are the timings about right?

Graham 3pm is a little optimistic and you'll be using the toll roads to get there near that time. Try to avoid Rouen, motorway goes straight into the town and is a nightmare anywhere near rush hour. I think the camping is a lot more civilised than when they have the 24.
