Thanks all, glad to hear I'm not the only one that has gone through this run of breaking things (My washer exploded the other week as well, and I mean exploded).

As Neil and Paul both already know after my phone calls to them, not all is well however. Although she is on the road and driveable something is certainly not right. I'm going to post an Elanscan run with more details over in the Elanscan area.

OK, Some good news!!!

I've just got back from having Simons Roll Hoops fitted!!!

Firstly an apology to Simon for firstly providing you with a sod of an install thanks to the old crash repairs on the tub and secondly buggering up the timings so you had to rush to get everything finished today so I could get back down to pick her up. I know you would have preferred more time to make sure everything was completly finished and upto scratch.

My first impressions are that Simon has done a great job and other than the back corner of the fairings needing trimming slightly to allow the roof to raised and lowered cleanly (which is not Simons fault) the fit is very good. Hopefully I'll get some proper pictures tomorrow when its light but I've tried to enhance a couple of poor quality ones that I took on my phone in the dark and bearing in mind the rear deck is yet to be properly painted.

I went out for a run with the top down this afternoon and I'm more than pleased with there look and feel

As mentioned before there is one issue with the fitment which is going to require a slight mod to the fairings because on Blackie the hoops have to sit further back than normal. The issue is that the roof when put up or down hits and digs into the rear corner of the fairing especially on the Drivers side, Simon started trimming this back but it is currently unfinished, I think it would be easiest to simply cut out the small section of fairing that is being hit by the roof.

Had a chance to re-set the timing over the weekend and also replace a couple of Jubilee clips which couldn't keep the intake pipes from blowing off.

A lesson I've certainly now learned is to never set the timing if your having problems with the ignition system. I've been meaning to get round to doing it for the last few weeks and when we rechecked it this weekend we found the timing to be at a massive 52° BTDC . How the hell she was still running as well as she was I'll never know!?!

One interesting thing we found whilst setting the timing was that we couldn't get a clean signal from No.1 lead and had to use No.4. This is probably why shes still idling rough and the lead is possibly on the way out despite only being fitted for six months (It has been pulled off and on way more than normal though).

Also despite fitting the pair of new Jubilee clips that actually tightened properly I still managed to blow off the intake hose again this morning!! Has anybody else had this problem with the LGM Intake pipe or is it just me?

In the attached pic I've replaced both clips "A" and "B" after "B" initially kept coming off, then after I thought I'd fixed that, then A kept coming off. Now I'm back to "B" coming off, I just hope it now holds!!

Graham, with regards to the pipe, the actual black pipe is an original one cut down to fit the LGM pipe ( presuming its the one i had on it ? ), never had it come off myself. So now you've set the timing again does she run a lot better ?, that engine bay still turns me on

Paul, you had me doubting my sanity for a minute so I just went out and had a look. All the black pipes around the LGM pipe, Wing to LGM, LGM to Throttle body & Blow-Off Valve to trash can are all Samco's . I've certainly not bought any pipes from Samco!!

As for running better, despite running rich and hesitating on acceleration she surprisingly wasn't running that badly before. However now shes back to her old self.
