Forgive me, but to increase take up... we need reports that the new set up 'transforms the car' and is 'well worth it'.

If im not mistaken the standard car understeers in the blink of an eye with no disernable lift off oversteer and the body roll is ... extreme. Now i have certificates to prove what an appauling driver i am... from most circuits... and indeed have been asked not to come back at one particular well known circuit. However in my limited experiance a stiffer front end oftern exaserbates understeer.

LMAO :smt081

The stiffer set up will obviously improve handling but it`s only one part of setting up a car for track, once i have the new suspension fitted and tested on track the next step maybe a stiffer rear anti-rollbar which will help combat understeer. You can also invoke oversteer with more pressure in the rear tyres, i also had sticker tyres on the front but they do get punished.

I think i need to measure my front height again as i measured from the bottom of the lower wishbone and not the bar going across, so think mine is slightly higher than 130mms.

Original in mms / Height from floor to wheelarch
x(170) y(160) / Front Rear
Gazza 130? 135 / 610 630
Rip 151 130 / -- --

This is supposed to be in columns but it keeps squashing it all up

"Transforms the car" what into a frog.
Cost is always subjective, as this kit is not the run of the mill twin tube damper setup as fitted as standard but a monotube damper and Eibach spring setup the costs are always going to be higher.
As this kit has only been fitted to one car it is really been down to the people that have driven it to say and so far have had no bad reports back.
As for understeer any front wheel drive car with all the weight over the front axle will understeer to some extent, in an ideal world you want a car that is neutral but that is very hard to achieve if not impossible particularly with a FWD car.
If you just up the spring rates on the front the chances are you will increase the amount of oversteer but as both front and rear are moved up in terms of spring rates then this should not make the car oversteer more. Then there are tyres and tyre pressures and the suspension geo, tyres are the single most important thing on any car as they make it go, stick to the road and most importantly stop! and not forgetting the driver, most of the time a smooth driver will be faster, he may not look fast but the clock does not lie. Opposite lock and sliding round corners on a race track slows the lap time.

I had the prototype with me at our last curry evening in Gt Dunmow & you would have been welcome to try it. If you can make the next one (how about you suggest the date), then you can try it for yourself.

Time to move this forward!
It does not look like we are going the get to the 20 kits needed to reach the 20% discount level so will be stuck at 15%.............
Due to the test car needing two springs on the rear a main and a helper spring there is a slight increase in cost but Nitron have offered the kit with their own springs and Eibach springs as an option price as follows.

All plus vat and delivery

I need a someone to test a track day setup ideally in 5 weeks time, anyone ?? Monty? Tony?

Bob,

Whats the difference between the Nitron and Eibach springs? as i don`t understand why there`s even a choice, unless one is better than the other :?

I`ve got a Trackday booked in June 18th at Anglesey and maybe doing croft in July

If there`s a good discount for being a guinea pig then i may do an earlyer trackday

Unfortunately not able to assist as a guinea pig until later in the year now so grateful to those that can. I may however be in for second complete set of springs and dampers towards the end of the year for a little (ok big) project which I've recently aquired the basics for, if so that would be a full track (race?) set up as I haven't yet decided if this project is going to be road legal  .
