Not today, but it made me smile yesterday.
We were in a hurry to get home from my daughter's basketball tournament in Birmingham (Alabama) yesterday, because it was also prom night. Anyway, on the road between Tuscaloosa Alabama and home, there was a Crown Vic/Grand Marquis just ahead of me in the left lane. Now, this particular car had tinted windows (at least the rear window), a county license plate (official), a conspicuous antenna in the center of the rear deck, and I could make out the rectangular shape of what I figured had to be the blue lights inside the rear window. A Corolla in a hurry went quickly between the unmarked cop and me, then just as quickly hit the brakes when he was along side the cop. From that point on, he just drove calmly along beside the cop. Several other cars did similar things, realizing at the last second that it was a cop causing traffic to move along about 2 mph below the limit. Finally, when there were about 7 or 8 of us wishing the cop would turn off, somebody who didn't recognize the unmarked car, got the opportunity to squeeze between the Corolla and the cop, and went for it. The cop sped up behind him, and so did I -- I didn't want to miss it! Sure enough, on come the blue lights. It was priceless. I thanked the guy for taking one for the team as we went by him.
