Has Anybody fitted MX5 seats

Postby Coupeboy » Tue 23.02.2010, 14:09

My leather driver's seat has the usual stitching coming undone and base collapse. However there are lots of MX5 leather seats on e-bay for good prices - has anybody fitted these successfully? I had an MX5 with leather seats  and from memory the seats were comfortable and robust (plus speakers in the headrest :D ) Thanks

Hi,

Do know about mx5 seats.

I have Mini seats in mine, they fit well and are pretty comfy, especially on long drives.

Cheers,

Tom

Is that the 'new' shape mini seats? Do you have any photos?

You could use Tinypic for uploading and then copy the link for message boards in your post!
I'm dying to see the mini seats in an Elan ;-)

Mine seats, mini wheels.......sounds like BMW just re-shelled an Elan!

I'm liking those seats though. Any difficulties in fitting?

Hi,

I dont know how easy they were origionally to fit as they were already in the car when i got it, but they come out easily and go back in ok with out any problems.

Look good :D
Does the hood mechanism dig in to the backrest as per OE seats?

Hi,

No the roof mech misses the back of the seats completely, the only thing is that the depth of the back of the seats is quite 'fat'.
I like them but i think I may try and change them in the future for exige seats. :D
