Every now and then, I look back at this thread, and I'm reminded how grateful I am to this community for all the actual and moral support. It's hard to estimate which is more important. The Elan has definitely become the Missus' car. She looks great in her, and she suits her (however you sort out the pronouns, they work!). Rita's hood badge sits at my desk in the study. You never forget your first love, do you?
Not project creep, more rehabilitation. . .the next step is to put back the boot lock, which snapped off on the way home! Then, weatherstripping at the windowsill (when I get this first one done, I'll see about putting together a kit). Rebuild the headlamp motors. Redo the install on Dave's short shift kit (Harry's guys at Viking did a surprisingly poor job of this). Some more 3M film on the trunk and the tonneau cover. That should keep me busy through the summer or so!
Again, thank ya'll for everything.
Onwards!
