Why not make it with the whole rear deck.<br><br>Ie you remove your deck, and screw this on, drop it down and latch onto the hood front latches.<br><br>Or you'd need some decent clamps to latchonto the front of the reat deck.<br><br>Looks great BTW!

Thanks for all the encouraging comments   [smiley=wave.gif]<br>Due to popular demand I have attached a few more pictures. I think the sexy curves suit the overall styling of the car, but I will try a slightly more square version.<br><br>The rear deck/hood cover will be integral with the roof and replace the original deck, but this should be only a 2 minute job to remove or replace the 4 screws. The convertable hood could also be removed for weight saving. As for timescale, I am determined to have a roof on my car before next winter. I don't want to guess at the cost until I have shown the model to the pattern makers and laminators. [smiley=dontknow.gif]<br><br><br><br>

What are you intending to use as seals around the header rail and door window areas?

I do understand your concerns, however, sealing the roof effectively will be the main focus of my attention.  There is a rubber extrusion company that I deal with who have some very useful standard sections.  Although there are none that would fit the convertable hood, designing the new roof to suit the available sections should be very effective.<br><br>

Neil, I have a choice of 2 FARO Arms (similar to the Romer), one with a 12 foot (3.66m) working diameter and also an 8 foot (2.44m) arm with an accuracy of about 70 microns.

Intersting that you are using Faro (s), thay have the nice option of indefinite rotation, don't they.<br>We have the first Romer with 720 on the A encoder, still the interface with Delcam software is a pain.  However we are good to 80 microns with our 2800 mm reach.<br><br>as for the hard top, looks real nice. I am also trying to get a hardtop made for me, by some very clever body shop people just down the road. They are on about covering the soft top with plastic sheeting, then covering it all with expanding foam to make a mould. One of the blokes has made some really nice one off body panels for customers cars & seems really keen, so will keep you all posted.
