Why do you think you need a new clutch? Have you checked the cable adjustment? What's the mileage?

Is Newmarket too far?
GST performance works exclusively on Lotus. Gerald has been working on Elans since they were being developed so knows them as well as anyone. He is also one of the most genuine people you will ever meet & won't add extras just to bump up the bill.

Hi
Thanks for responses. I have been away for a few days.
The mileage is 85k.
I have adjusted the clutch cable with little or no effect. There is still some adjustment left.
Symptoms are difficult gear change when the engine has wamed up, and a slight whiff of clutch now and then. Changing gear is helped by double declutching.
At the moment I have booked it into Paul Matty with a quoted price of £865 incl vat.
I will ring GTS in the morning and see how they compare. I rang Allon White and they wanted £950.
Regards
Neville

Hi
I spoke to Gerald at GST and he quoted £871. He seemed very nice and helpful, and I will use him in future for major work.
I will use Paul Matty on this occasion as I have already booked in and will be dropping the car off today.

Regards

Neville
