I had a lot of fun chasing that Type 26/copy - afterwards he said he was slow..................not really trying sort off and I should follow his son or try to as he would leave me behind...................... someone said he had spent £12K on the engine rebuild - it certainly had a lot of grunt out of the corners

Session 4 was pretty much straight after 3 at the end of the afternoon so still very slippery at the back of the circuit. I had a 260Cup Exige up my exhaust pipes right from the pit lane so immediately let him go at Quarry. But despite the bravado he wasn't that quick....tho he wasn't going to let me back past . I raced closer than I should for a couple of laps (not that it looks it on the wide angle), but I backed off for 1/2 a lap when it was clear he wasn't going to yield. Stangely enough he let me straight past when I caught him back up two laps later.

That's great vid. and some good lines (well thats the way it looked to me). What is your vid set up? I would like to try something like that in mine.

What is your vid set up? I would like to try something like that in mine.

Its a bit dated now....I've got a PMC500R "portable multimedia centre" (ie recorder) and a 4mm-9mm F1.6 bullet camera. Then there's a rediculous amount of spaghetti to link it all together and a suction mount. Good stuff is that the quality is OK as these things go and its easy to use. I did have a problem with its independent battery power (only lasted about 15 mins from full overnight charge) so have now got it powered off the car. The other thing is that all the leads do make it a bit restrictive about where you can mount the thing and still comply with curcuit rules for taping everything down. Previously I suckered the camera onto the hood cover between the seats and got reasonable results, but with quite alot of the picture being the car, or a very narrow field of view through the screen. This time I tried sticking it on the windscreen which gave a much better field of view, but made everything seem miles away so lost some of the excitment. I might have to try "arty" next and have it low down on a door or similar - we'll see!.

I've got some of the bits from these people http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/products.htm. They're not cheap, but I'm sure their latest stuff will also work well.

Whilst it was " exhaust popping" as I came back through the pits and paddock that's something my car has always done - guess it's the timing set up.

As for the tyres, one of Jim Gaisford's shots of me taking that bend shows the front nearside only 50% at most in contact with the tarmac, so that could answer it.

Unless my passenger is overweight of course - he shouldn't be though cos he doesn't eat meat!
