Serpentine Charity Run - 4th July 2010

Postby theelanman » Tue 02.02.2010, 10:02

Serpentine Charity Run

Presented by the
Cheshire Lotus Owners Group

Sunday the 4th July 2010

Open to all types of classic cars, sports cars and classic motorbikes
the event will start at 9:30am from The Buxton Community School and
involve a route though the Peak District National Park and some of
the UK's most beautiful scenery.
Entrants will be given their route maps at the registration point,
where they can also get refreshments (free tea and coffee, bacon
sandwiches at a small cost etc…), and from where they will also be
started at regular intervals.
The journey will be approximately 100miles and will involve several
stops at places of interest as well as stops for refreshments etc and
will culminate in a display of all the cars at the finish line in one
of the Peak Districts historic locations (it's a secret until you get
there) around mid afternoon.
This is not a race and the planned journey time though the Peak
District is to be around 4 hours to allow you to enjoy the scenery,
stop for lunch or a picnic as well as enjoy your driving experience.
There will be an entry fee of £10, which should enable a substantial
donation to the chosen local charities to benefit.

Please see the reverse for the entry form or Tel:- 01298 25590 to
request additional copies or further information

Email:- serpentinecharityrun@yahoogroups.com

We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to our event

1. inkitin & Navigator (We promise not to bring a picnic this time  , so that we can enjoy a pub meal. :-) )

I'm currently trying to tempt a really beautiful Healey 3000 to join us this year. If it does, I can more than guarantee it will easily keep up!

START POINT HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE HISTORIC PAVILLION GARDENS

basically weve got access to the WC'S etc for those who'd like to go before they go......
just means your bacon butties will be alfresco at the first 'pit stop'......
unless youre really hungry and get one from the cafe at the gardens and pay a fortune...

Glad to see you're coming again this year,Tony. It'll be great to meet you and Roz again.

Neil, are you waiting for the number thirteen ? :-D and Martin, are you also coming this year ? :-)

For those who haven't been on this before, it really is an extremely enjoyable and fun day out. The proceeds go to charity, so everyone's a winner!

A great day out and thanks to all for the good company and to those who organised this really enjoyable event.

Sorry we left you like "Billy no mates" Gareth, noticed that you soon caught us up though and overtook when we pulled over. :-)
