Rear Hub conversion 3rd run

Postby bobbrown » Mon 21.06.2010, 15:23

Ok some people have asked regarding another run on these so here's another list.
Just hubs and bearings on this list please and PM me if you want brakes as well.

I will need a minimum of 20 people to make it economic and indicate if you want bearings as well. The price will be the same as last time at £130.48 for the hubs and £24.00 for the bearings, thats axle sets so a pair.

From the previous group buy thread:

dapinky wrote:I know that this is a 'list' thread, not specifically an 'information' one, but it may help people on the list, or from the first buy.....

The disks required to fit the 'standard' rear brake calipers (and these hubs) is an Apec DSK117.

rear (DSK117) are listed for a Vauxhall Astra 1.4 ('91-'98) at £6.51 each.

They arrived within 48 hours, and the company (as well as being the cheapest 'All In' price I could find) were easy & helpful to deal with.

There are pics in the previous run topics but heres another

Shown mounted on a rear hub and the every thing is the same as the original, like bearings etc just less the disc and the material is now steel instead of cast iron so stronger than the original, add a solid Vauxhall/Opel/GM disc and you have something that is the same as the original and can be used with the standard rear calipers and the discs then become less of a problem as they are cheap as chips at £15 to £20 the pair and easy to get hold.

Bob, could you please approximate US shipping costs for just the hubs? I assume I could source the bearings and discs here.

Last time I shipped these to the USA they were shipped as a group and then forwarded out to individuals, I think a pair shipped would be £35.00 to £40.00 more equals less
Bearings and discs are available in the USA

Information
For those of you that are purchasing these, the discs required to run with the standard rear caliper are as follows:
236 diameter 12.5mm thick, height 41mm 4 stud 100mm PCD

North America
PONTIAC LEMANS (1988 - 1989)
PONTIAC LEMANS AEROCOUPE 1988
PONTIAC LEMANS AEROCOUPE YL (1988 - 1989)
PONTIAC LEMANS SE 1988
PONTIAC OPTIMA (1988 - 1989)
236 diameter 12.5mm thick, height 41
also I believe they were fitted to an Isuzu Optima in Canada 1988 1989
RockAuto Raybestos part number 5966R $19.76 each so you will need 2

Bearings are also available

Somehow I have lost my old username so now have a new one...
Anyway I am also looking to replace my rear hubs/discs. If this run is still available I would like to join the list... I will need hubs and bearings, also discs/pads if they can also be bundled?).

I can probably sort out the details with regards to bearings, discs, pads etc when we have enough people on the list to make it economic to place the order to get them machined.
