CL Breakfast Meeting 26th September Royston, Herts

Postby Dave Eds » Wed 22.09.2010, 09:06

Club Lotus email wrote:Dear Member,

Following the late news from Panshanger Airfield that they would not allow
us to hold our proposed breakfast meeting on 26th September, local member
Leslie Seal has kindly given us an alternative suggestion.

Leslie has checked with the proprietor of the SILVER BALL CAFE and they
are more than willing to receive all Lotus owners on Sunday 26th September
for breakfast. This is a VERY popular cafe, serving good cooked food from
£3 - £6.

They serve from 8.30am until 1.45pm on Sundays. The cafe is located on the
A10, 2 miles to the south of Royston, Herts. postcode SG8 8BD.

All Club members are very welcome and if feedback is as good as it sounds
we¹ll make it a regular event.

Bringing this back to the top!

Does anyone want to see a Tesla in action - there will be at least one there. There will also be everything from early Elites and 7s up to hopefully an Evora, but maybe not quite the new Elite.

There are plans for a gentle convoy in from Sawbridgeworth and Stortford, and also a post meeting blat around Barley, Barkway, Baldock, Cottered and Buntingford.

Would be nice to see some of you there. Last chance outing before the weather breaks?

I'm seriously considering this, what are the planned meet up times :poke:
weathers not looking favourable though
It's close to Bob's so I could kill two birds with one :D
I take it you will be in attendance Dave :poke:

Bob - Steve and I are meeting by the first roundabout (Ambulance Station) off the MII at 9am. Cross country to Reed should get us there 9.30ish.

Good turnout despite the damp and blustery weather.

Four of ours (Me, rip, bobbrown with Caroline, Steve A with Lesley).

Three Esprits, two Elan+2s, a baby Elan soft top in Sprint colours, and a Tesla.

A pre breakfast spirited drive for me and Steve, with Pete in his white Esprit for company, including close encounters with a horsebox then a tractor!

A post breakfast blat behind the extremely quick Tesla (which took out a pigeon!) for me, rip and Steve and the blue +2.

Nice food, good company.

Pics to follow

:D Yes a good venue with nice nosh and great local roads, an interesting blend of cars and people, would have been even better in the summer 8)
Cost me a packet though, we ended up at Freeport designer village on the way home and Lesley got herself a new coat
and that's after taking her to the silver ball ! unbelievable

Made for a nice drive out on a Sunday morning if you ignore the weather and a good low cost breakfast with proper cups of tea in mugs!

Spud, is this going to be a regular thing as the venue is quite handy and I suppose the pics are still stuck on your camera, don’t tell me you have been too busy painting to post them

BTW the guy in the Elan 130 said he will try to get to our Quendon meet as he lives in Saffron Walden.

Hey Bob - gonna try and alternate beween this and the Four Wentways Cafe, with drives out on some of the local roads. Been discussing it with the Esprit boys that were there and at St Marys. Could even breakfast at one and lunch at the other. :D

Now there's a plan meet at one with a nice run around the country roads in between and I know some nice twisty roads, some nice straight ones

And some narrow ones with grass up the middle
