tks guys for the headsup.
i'm not purchasing the transducer yet, as i've yet to solve the white smoke issue.
i'm suspecting that there's a leak in the valve seal, and SJs has just send the head gasket set together wth the valve seals yesterday.
the engine probably will need to be off the car. i'll check the wiring then. if the oil pressure is ok(the oil was flowing to the engine top last time i checked) and the oil pressure light still comes up then i'll probably need to change it.
tks again

I asked the question and now have an answer
Thanks for the enquiry Robert.
The 360-023 sender has 30/9 stamped into the nut.
Regards
Paul
They are quick as they updated the web site so the description now reads
360-023 150psi /10 bar Metric M10 x 1 thread
Twin terminal, second terminal is for a low pressure warning lamp triggered below 7 psi.
30/9 stamped into the nut
Ground is via the engine block.
Price: £45.83 £39.00 (Excl. VAT)
So those numbers are the same as the SJ item and it's cheaper, result.
Bob
BTW: If you search for VDO 360-023 you may well find it cheaper and it's available in the USA

I agree with Bob. I thought there was another problem as
this lot impied 360 023 was available as 5 and 10 bar however I eventually found
this lot who have the most comprehensive list I've found (including temperature senders and switches which could be useful).

I also found those when I searched for VDO 360 023
What may prove interesting is to know what our gauges were adapted from as most other VDO gauges have mid point at 12 o'clock.
If any one has a temp sender and it has numbers on it then it should be possible to cross reference it.
If the temp gauge started life like this
vdo_water-t.jpg
and had the face changed to suit Lotus then it goes a long way to explain why the fans do not cut in till 3/4 travel as the travel is not linear and there is no need for the fans to cut in until the temp is above 100 as the cooling system should not boil till its over 120.

if this is the case, that means the low-temp fan switch will cut off at 80 degrees then?
anyway, found the VDO oil pressure sender in singapore, however the part number is different. locally the P/N is VDO 360 081 030 009C. Apparently the number defers from country to country
gonna pick it up later in the afternoon
