I am definately registering my interest in buying a hard top for my Black Elan S2 (aka Sh4rk). <br><br>That installment would tempt me to paint a couple of yellow race lines all the way ;D

I would already have painted a couple of yellow lines but I havent done so because I am so lucky to have a huge Lotus Logo Sticker like the one used on Esprits GT1s, you can see it at the first part of this video http://www.espritfactfile.com/videos/racing/GT1-1.ASF) so If I decide to put the sticker on, there is no space left on the engine hood for the lines! Kinda of a dilema there.<br><br>

Apologies for the delay in responding, I have been away for a while and busy on other jobs [smiley=all_coholic.gif] [smiley=asleep.gif].<br><br>The hardtop patterns took a little longer than planned but are now complete. Next job is to lay up the moulds which will be done in the next 2 weeks. <br><br>

5-Axis machining!!! This is going to be an outstanding piece of kit, way to go Simon!<br>As an interim measure I decided quite foolishly this weekend to remove my roof fabric to have a new window sewn in...it's no wonder the Elan cost so much to produce! What a complicated contraption!<br>Having removed said fabric I decided by the time the window was replaced and the unobtanium seals renewed then re-assembled (and a kings ransom lighter) I'd still have a heavy leaky noisy 13 year old POS that does nothing for asthetics or performance!<br>No point in throwing good money (and time) after bad...time for a Hardtop! <br>

Kuching<br><br>A bit late to the party, but please add me to the list of potential customers.<br><br>Given the professional way you're going about this, I'd be quite happy to fork out a deposit; while agreeing with the non-profit LEC theory, I don't think anyone pioneering upgrades should finish up out of pocket, or take a big  financial risk without some prospect of reward.<br>Just my (capitalist) 2p's worth. <br><br>  David[smiley=devil2.gif]

Just thought I would mention this as it's one of those spooky coincidences.<br><br>The other day I was talking to the pattern maker who produced the new hardtop pattern for me and it turns out that he also worked for Lotus on the pattern for the original M100 hardtop! What are the chances of that?<br><br>Incidentally, he much prefers the new design.<br>
