Brian,<br><br>In answer to your question (which has disappeared), when I say I have seen one, I should qualify that by saying its not quite a finished component yet. Been having some trouble with surface imperfections on the pattern so we are re-finishing the surface. <br><br>Thanks for your patience but I am sure that you wouldn't want me to rush it and produce a second rate job.

After parsing through a lot of this thread, I am still not sure where the hardtop holy grail stands right now. Is there one available yet?<br><br>Please include me in your list of takers.<br><br>My 2 cents otherwise.<br>1. the lines are unimportant. Every one shown here is perfectly acceptable<br>2. does not have to be totally water tight, just close.<br>3. After owning some old Merc SL's, mounting effort is unimportant<br>4. weight is unimportant<br>5. prefer one in primer rather than painted<br>6. like to keep the price down, since I will also need to pay shipping to San Francisco

I will give the laminators some hassle on Monday.<br><br>All the points you make have been noted. As for supplying to the U.S, I have been in discussion with Brian about sending some moulds over so that the components could be produced locally, but given the limited interest so far from over the pond, it might be more economical to produce all the hardtops here then send all the U.S orders in one shipment to be distributed from there.<br><br>I hope to have more news shortly. Watch this space.

LOL! Okay. More water tight than not. Is that acceptable Niall? Sorry, I guess we don't see the precipitation in California that you do. I was only thinking that no convert I have ever owned was completely water tight. Always a dribble here and there. Was concerned that the cost AND TIME to produce a fully water tight after market top may not be worth it.<br>

No, the standard for "more water tight than not" was never meant to be the soft-top. The soft-top is only slightly more water tight when up than down.<br><br>So.... when can I expect delivery of my new top? Will it be here before the rain stops in California next March?
